I guessed he just changed the transmission once and so ~474,000 on the 2nd engine and on the 2nd automatic transmission. Pretty good for an automatic that has a lot of reliability complaints vs the 6th gen autos. Keep the fluid clean and only user Genuine Honda DW1 ATF

X2, I only use Honda Z1 (now DW1) ATF. Anyway, I change mine religiously every 30K miles (1 drain and fill, then another next oil change), BTW, I change my engine oil at about 8-10K miles. I use Mobile1 extended. Anyway, like Deltatech, 95% of my miles (I'm at 121K miles) are highway. I'm surprised the tranny lasts as long as it did with Deltatech. These trannies don't have the best rep. I drive like a grandmother sleeping, so hopefully my tranny last at least till 300K miles.

Don't get too excited... Its not an auto...its a manual. Which means delta has done an awful lot of shifting...

Honda's will take care of you if you take care of them I personally did not know you can get more then 200,000 miles on the OD anyway but this is impressive.

I would love to see a summary of maintenance advice from some of the high mileage drivers. How often do you think it is necessary to change fluids? When can we expect certain parts to break? I can't afford to have my car break down and would rather replace parts when they are close to failure.

Comparing a regular daily driver car to a high mileage car which sees a lot of highway cruising is an apples to oranges comparison.

Where his brakes will last 500,000 miles because he barely uses them, you'll have to replace yours every 45k and have calipers that go bad @ 100k.

As far as fluids, because he racks up 100k+ in a year, he could go 5 years and 500k miles without changing the coolant. It will take you 5 years to reach 100k and by then, the coolant needs replacing.

Same oil engine oil (he's changing the oil every 20k miles) where as you'd be lucky to squeeze 10k outta the highest quality synthetic oil with daily driving before the oil is toast.

You can get plenty out of oil daily driving. I use Castrol edge titanium in my 08 and I'm at 14k on the change and it isn't even clicking yet like my beater does when it goes 16k+ miles on same oil. I suspect delta could take Mobil 1 EP to 25k miles a change without taking life off the engine.

I'm at 206K on my 2006 FG2 with original motor and tranny. Still running mid 14's in the 1/4 and hits 8600 almost every time I drive her. All about maintenance baby!
