Dead Battery, then Dead Radio, Check the Amp FUSE!
Beware. My son had a dead battery on his 2007 Civic SI. He got a new battery for free at the local Honda dealership. They charged him $5 for replacing a fuse, but failed to replace fuse #5 under the hood, the 15 amp fuse for the amplifier. We put in the code and the radio came on. Just no sound. We were about to pull the dash apart to see if there was an issue with the Parrot CK3000 we put in about 6 months ago. Luckily, he decided to check the fuses. There is a fuse for the radio and it was fine, but the fuse for the amp was blown. We put in a new 15A fuse and it now works fine.
Don't ask me why the fuses blow when you have a dead battery, but they did. |
