I searched and couldn't find anything. So im using this thread.
Yesterday I installed my TWM bronzoil shifter cable bushings, and all I did that would be related to this was disconnect the MAF when I removed/installed the airbox. (no i didn't put the key in the ignition with the MAF disconnected.) When I put everything back together and started the car up I got a CEL. I thought it was weird so I disconnected the battery and then reconnected it. I started it up, and no CEL. I then scanned the ecu and no codes. What do u think happened? Why would it turn on? Also, even if I do disconnect the battery, if it would have thrown a code, it would still be stored in the ECU right? Thanks. |

You should include what kind of intake you have. Any loose connections in the intake or an air leak can cause a CEL. If your MAF is collecting oil from the filter, it can also throw a CEL. What you should do is double check your connections and buy an electrical contact cleaner to clean the MAF.
