The stock exhaust is fairly quiet... the front is where all the noise is made.

it has a resonator and premuffler before the muffler to cut down on noise and for emissions....the muffler itself doesn't have a silencer like you would find in a fat can exhaust....is this what you mean?

what are looking for, more noise...? if it had one would you take it out?

there is a resonator... just take it to any decent muffler shop and have them cut it out for you and weld in a piece of pipe. Thats what I did to my Si. But I have since added the I cant take a picture of my stock exhaust if you'd like

There is no silencer, and I like the way the Si sounds stock. Nice and quiet.

How did you delete it? Weld a new piece in?

yeah, you can go to a local muffler shop and have them take it out. i was going to see if one could get rid of the entire piece from flange to flange and weld in straight pipe.....cat back to muffler. but since it is "emissions equipment" they may be reluctant to.

but if i take my exhaust off from the cat, remove muffler, and take it in and say it was "stolen" and need a new pipe put in they might do it.

Why not just get a test pipe and cat back?

It's basically a muffler before the muffler to keep noise down. There's no reason to remove it other than to make more noise. However, I doubt it would make much more noise so I'd say it's pretty pointless. You won't get any more power from removing it either.

ahh... i see. but what about the premuffler? has anybody here tried removing it? what does it sound like? well, the reason why i'm asking this is because i'm planning to get a muffler to get my Si a more aggressive tone... i mean really do like the way it sounds right now i just wanted to get a more deeper sound but not that loud....
