its prolly just throwing the code telling you that your CAT is not functioning properly.

If thats the case, it wont affect your performance any. You'll just have to deal with the anoying CEL

you can either go to a place with an obd 2 scanner to scan and delete the code or you can just simply disconnect the battery

before you disconnect the battery to clear the code i would go to autozone and use the scanner to read the code. it is easy to look up the code online to find what the code means and get an idea of why. if you do, post it in here to get some advise on where to start.

what mods have you done lately and how is the weather? do anything crazy while driving?

You should borrow a scanner and find out what the code is before you jump to conclusions or go removing the code.

If you disconnect the battery, you'll have to re-program the radio security code.

If it is a cat-issue my guess is the CEL will come back again at some point.

If you want a test pipe it's something you'll have to deal with.

I got the cel too with the HFC. I disconnected the battery and it came off. Then I removed my Evo2 and after a few hundred miles it came back again last night. I think i will have to disconect my battery again.
