"Passenger Air Bag Off Light" was on...

I was transporting an older 19-inch CRT television in my front passenger seat this morning and noticed that the Passenger Air Bag Off light was on during the trip. When I was driving back, I started the car and the light was off during the trip. I have a 2007 LX sedan with 16,000 miles. All normal, right? Thank you.

Yeah, i think that when you have a passenger in your front seat and he is bellow a certain weight (such as a child) the passenger air bag disengages. I am not 100% certain, but i am pretty sure about that. When you were driving back and the light was off, you didn't have the tv on the seat anymore, right?

its a safety feature. it truns off if the object or person in the seat is less than 60 pounds. that way if a kid is in the seat the airbag will not hurt them.

there are sensors in the seat the know when. Smeone is in the seat... If whatever is in the seat weighsless than 60lbs I think the airbags are off because the car "asumes" its a child in the seat

When I was driving back, I did not have a TV in the seat any more. And the light was off. Thank you.

When I had to transport something heavy on the front seat, I just did up the seatbelt first then placed the object on the seat. No light and no beeping from the 'buckle-up' reminder.

I had my 90lb dog in my passenger seat once, and the damn seat belt indicator shouldn't STFU, so I seat belted her in. She was pissed.

It's perfectly normal for the light to reflect "off" under 60 lbs.

PS. Brown hair hard to remove from Si seat fabric...
