need help!!
so i was driving my friends celica gts and he told me to gun it so as i was shifting i accidentally shifted from 5 to 4 and it made a high pitched sound. we pulled over and it just died and so we started it and went to his house but everytime i shifted it i would hear this weird noise coming from the engine. when we got to his house everything was fine (it wouldn't die when in idle) but everytime we pushed in the clutch it would die. his check engine light and oil light is on. does anyone know what the problem might be? i feel really bad so whatever i messsed up i'll replace

It doesn't sound like "everything is fine". When the oil light comes on it means eminent engine failure. The check engine light is telling you to look at the warning lights and gauges. The wierd noise when you push the clutch in indicates a clutch problem. Have a mechanic look at the car before you drive it and wreck more stuff!!! These issues are likely the result of reving the engine beyond redline when you shifted from 5th to 4th. Might be an expensive driving lesson.

It sounds like the crankshaft thrust bearings might be gone. If that model uses an oil pump driven directly by the front of the crankshaft, that would explain the low oil pressure. The crank would push forward into the pump housing and damaging it when the clutch is disengaged.
