1st > 2nd gear shifting is not smooth

anyone have a problem with their shifts ?

i try to shift at around 3k rpm and when i put it in 2nd i always feel this "nudge".. sort of like a non-synchronized movement...

i have an 07 and rev hang is still present during all my shifts.. whether it's at 3k rpm or 8k rpm.

Join the club. I had my third gear replaced and still feels crummy. I have an oil change next week and I will see what they say about second. I have a love/hate relationship with this car.

seriously..i'm starting to despise my car. Mine only has 17k miles but the transmission feels like it's going to break any second.

For me, second feels in-between a grind and a "two step" click to get into gear. <Did that make any sense.

not really a grind... but the gear doesnt transition in a smooth manner. I always feel a "rough" engagement whenever i shift into 2nd.

Same here. Just started happenin yesterday. It has to be the rev hang cause i was just brought about. Even after the car is at normal operatin temperature the rev is close to 1k. Makes my shiftin weird as if when i first learned how 2 drive the car. booo

i dont know why they are soo weak...... even my b-series tranny was stronger than these.

i had mine replaced and its been fine ever since its not that their weak alot of people dont know how to drive ether. just take it in and they give u a rental and u get ur car back when their done i always look at it like i dont have to put miles on my car just use the damn rental up.

When I took my car in for the 3rd gear TSB, I told them second gear would grind every once in awhile, and that it was sometimes slightly notchy. They ordered complete new second and third gears for me :)

I'll see how it feels after they replace them.

i have the same problem.. I put in an ACT clutch and i needed to adjust the clutch pedal.. In the interm of not adjusting it, I either messed up the syncros, or bent something in the gear selector.

I am having the exact same problem with my 2006 EX... It seems to get worse when it's cold outside (below 10°C). When you put it into 2nd, it feels like it goes notch->notch->notch->in. Other times it'll give a little grind, or just not feel right going in. Putting it into gear slower seems to make it worse for whatever reason.

I reproduced it for the tech (on one of my trips to the dealer complaining about it), and then we switched and he drove. He said it felt fine and drove it back to the dealership soon after...

Sigh... I just want my car fixed before the warranty runs out.

dealership will try their best to "not" find a problem till the warrenty expires.

Once the warranty is over they put in their best effort to find it and fix it ASAP while charging a hefty fee.

Same here, and this has always been the case.
In my case, it also happens with 6th gear. But it does not happen all the time, just a few times.

Today I drove from my house to work about 8 miles, and I might have shifted to second 5 to 6 times, and 4 of them this happened... Like I said, it also happens when shifting from 5th to 6th...

Anybody with 6th problems?

I have a 5 M/T R18 Civic. The transmission in this thing is garbage, sometimes it's smooth but most times it's not.

my 2nd sucks unless I am downshifting then it goes in like butter.

my second sucks it used to always grind or stutter and then go in but now sometimes when im rippin it, it just wont go in. i have to push the clutch in really hard wait and then jam it in. my 3rd gear sucks also it stutters going in and pops out sometimes. and reverse grinds alot unless i go really slowly.

Same thing... When I downshift into 2nd it's fine...
