How to remove driver's seat

I was dumb and dropped a couple of coins down the seat and into the cracks beneath the carpeting. Being an OCD twit I am, I am going crazy thinking about the rattling of coins against the metal frame that might occur when driving over speed bumps or similar bumpy surfaces. Other than suggesting I go see a psychologist, how would I go about removing the driver's seat? Do I have to disconnect the battery first and then try? Are there any wires connected to the seat from the battery? Btw, I have a Civic LX '08.

Just go to Autozone and get mechanical fingers.

Hmm.. good suggestion, but I'm skeptical as to whether or not I'd be able to stick it at such an angle that I'd be able to reach the coins. Removing the seat seems a bit overkill, but if I can do it without messing up the carpeting/damaging the chair, I don't see why not!

push the seat all the way foward and feel around for the coins. theres no way for them to get under the carpet unless you put them there.

Man. I spent 3 years of my life retrieving lord knows what out of the S-3 Viking, a just-at-the-end-of-vietnam era jet. I would use mechanical fingers, a small mirror, flashlight and a coworker to aim the beam to find it. At the time I was a frivolous girlie type obsessed with finding Mr. Dreamboat on a surf board in Pacific Beach, CA and lived out my non-work life in a bikini. If I can do it, you can do it. Quit stressing and go find it. If that doesn't work, duct tape on the end of a finder magnet will.

I was hoping that was the case however if I slide the seat back and forth I can hear the jiggling of coins underneath the carpeting. What rotten luck!

The key is to have patience young vineswah-san. Patience. If you need help, just take a shot of scotch (but don't drive for a few hours) oh and (do not do if you're underage) that ought to calm your nerves enough.

Ok maybe removing the seat is an extreme, I'll try the finger magnet idea when I find a good pair of batteries and a magnet able to grab ahold of arcade tokens. --;

Sounds like a plan. Always start at the easiest point, then move up in level of need from there.
