hot upper radiator hose

hi there! newbie here. i recently replaced the radiator of my 06 civic sedan LX because of an accident. Today when i check my radiator I can see that the rad fab is not working at all. After some checking, i was able to find out that it is only that upper radiator that is hot. The lower radiator is not even hot. What maybe causing this issue...What do i have to do...

thanks in advance.

Id first check into why your fan isnt coming on! You can check this by turning on your A/C,...the fan should turn on right away! You might have a stuck or damaged thermostat.

The thermostat won't open until it hits about 180F. The fan won't come on until the engine hits around 190F or so. If it's still not getting flow through it after a highway run I'd check that the thermostat is working. Usually they get stuck in an open position though... weird. You can test it by putting it in boiling water. You'll need a new gasket if you take the old thermostat out. May as well get a new one while you're at it!

What's you temp gauge showing? is it running hotter than normal?

Normally the upper radiator shoudl be hot, as it is coming otu of the block. The lower one should be warm-cold depending on the ambient temp, as it is carrying heat exchanged coolant.
