When I installed my fog lights, I had to pull up the trim piece that covers the driver's side door sill area/trunk release lever. When I reinstalled that piece, I didn't realign the trunk release lever with the metal tumbler thing (or whatever it is inside) and had the same problem.
So, have you had that trim piece moved for any reason recently? You can check the trunk release lever out as follows: -There's a little cover piece that you can pop off w/a flathead screwdrive on the top of the release lever "bump". -There will be a screw under that cover that you can take out, and then play around with getting the plastic arm from the lever to align with a metal tumbler type thing. |
