Post 3rd Gear TSB fix review

I got my car back on Friday. Of course I felt totally jittery when going to pick it up cause I know what the notchiness feels like and how it feels when it's just about to grind/pop out of gear.

Anyways, even when warm, it can still be notchy. So they show me my car, give me the keys and send me on my way. So I take it out of the parking lot, take it at about 1/2 gas all the way to 7k rpm in 2nd and shift to 3rd. BUTTER
1 notch, not 3, not 4, not 5, but 1 notch just like the rest of the gears. Take it to 4th, and then after a bit downshift to 3rd. BUTTER. lol, I think my 3rd gear is actually the smoothest gear out of all the gears.

I did some shifting at lower rpm (doing 3k rpm shifts and down shifts, then 4k rpm, then 5k rpm) All BUTTER. This fix is IT.

I then decided to do a little race shifting (power shifting with gas on pedal the entire time and also just shifting quick w/o gas on pedal entire time)

BUTTER

I took it on some winding roads that would be the equivalent of auto crossing and did some heavy shifting up and down between 2nd 3rd and 4th. Not even so much as a hint there was ever a problem. This TSB is the sh*t.

If you are a car that is affected, but havent felt it as bad as others, I still HIGHLY reccomend getting it because the notchiness is COMPLETELY GONE.

Since the notchiness is gone, so is the grind, and the possibility of popping out of gear.

I had a grin on my face for like the entire day every time I shifted to 3rd Gear.

Cheers

~Will

God, you lucky SOBs. I got my fix done last week and there is utterly no difference at all.

I am so ******* tired of this...

what was done to fix it? Do you got a new transmission???

Me and my FG2 dont know what to do here in germany! Is the fix a official fix now? Do you think Honda Germany can contact Honda USA and ask for the fix?

Given that many of us in America still can't even get Honda to acknowledge this, I think the chances of American Honda authorizing anything in Germany are about the same as the chances of Richard Simmon's being straight.

I'm actually writing this while I'm sitting at Honda. I just dropped it off, but apparently they need to "verify" that my civic is actually symptomatic even though the TSB lists all the VIN's of the affected cars. I was just curious if any of you have had this issue at the dealer, I'm praying that something will happen with 3rd while they have it but I don't know what to do if they just give it back. Maybe i'll just stop by the dealer monthly 'til it actually happens.

^ Allow me to put this in perspective.

It took me over twenty cumulative visits, a few hours each, at six or seven different Honda dealerships, over a two year span...to get them to acknowledge it.
