Burning smell coming from engine?

The last couple of months I have had a burning smell coming from my engine only when I go to about 7k RPM. Seems like anytime I push it a little bit it will start to give me that smell. My friends have noticed it too while driving with me or behind me. Does anyone know what this could be? Im still under warranty but i obviously hope its not serious.

I have the 2006 Si

UPDATE!!!!!!
So today I turned my car on to go to over a friends and i pull out of the driveway and NO POWER i got hardly any power, had to rev it to about 6k rpm to get anywhere at all. So im having it towed to Honda tomorrow and ill give you guys another update after they tell me what is wrong with it. It sounds as if two belts are rubbing together or oil is burning.

I am so upset right now you have no idea, im so worried about what could be wrong with it.

ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!!!!

It was my clutch but and Honda wanted to charge me 1700bux to replace it but i called honda and they did it for me for free! woot!

oh an 06 Si? that's the problem then. serves you right for buying the car the first year it was out. LOL jk, sorry i'm bitter about my car.

hmm.. i know high revving engines have a tendency to burn oil, i wonder if that's what you're smelling. if i were you i'd go take a look and see how much oil you have in your engine. and if you're worried enough, get honda to check it out with a tech in the car?

I've had this issue rear its ugly head too 4-5x since I bought my 07Si, mostly in the last several months (still cold here). Usually after pushing in the vtec range on the highway; smells like burnt oil. Smell passes quickly and there's no other signs or symptoms. The oil is within normal limits.

Yea, its kind of embarrasing when my friends think my car is badass and then they smell a smokey oil smell coming from my car as i pull away from em on the highway lol i opened up my hood and smelled around and seems like it is coming from the oil. I just want it to stop lol it never did it before and i used to push my car every other day up and down this long straight road i lived on up in Jersey and it never happened

haha no problem, glad to help!

Funny you should say that because no, my e-brake was not purposely engaged but i was talking to my uncle and he said that this happened to him once and it was because the e-brake was down but the cable or w.e controls it was catching on something and telling the car is wasnt down so i dont know. wouldnt explain the burning smell that i get when i push the car tho.

Why wont Honda take care of it? Can they not prove it? and yea i would be bitter too lol Im bitter towards shopping carts and people that have no respect for other cars. I park in the wayyyyy back of a parking lot and no1 will be around and then i walk out and some POS is parked next to me..what a douche lol.

yea the bunny hopping is hilarious. My GF when she got her first stick car bunny hopped into a pole and a teachers truck in the school parking lot lol. She was rather upset and embarrassed b.c all the sports teams were there watching.
