A new problem... bye bye wheel studs

I was driving on my way to work and then as I almost get there, I can here a squeaking sound coming from my drivers side. I pull into work and notice that my driver's side rear tire is spaced dangerously more away from the hub than the rest of my tires.

So I pull my center cap off and I see 4 lugs just sitting inside and I looked inside each on and of course the stud broke off inside of the lug. So now I have to get my car towed to honda.

This blows....... I talked to someone on the phone and they are saying that its not covered by the extended warranty (wheel studs) since they are a wear item....

sigh......

i'm confused as to how wheel studs are a "wear" item...

i think i've had 1 replaced in 8 years of owning cars, and that's because some asshole stripped the threads on it

i'd question how it's any more of a wear item than the hub it's attached to.

that is a problem that can happen if the rims hub bore is not matched up to the car, or if your not using hubcentric rings.

weather its a wear and tear item or not, you will have a tough time getting them to cover it since they will tell you your rims caused it.

Nope.. always used hubcentric rings. My car vibrated like crazy without them. It's done now.... gotta go pick it up later... They ended up just putting new wheel studs in.. no need for a brand new hub thank god..

$475... looks like no new goodies for civicfest.....

This includes towing to the dealership, parts and labor. I had to get it done and plus I want it done professionally as it being a very important part of the car. Thank god my wheel didn't fly off

I figured that.. it was 300 alone on labor... I need to make sure that it is indeed not covered by my extended warranty. Pars was only $50 something I think....

$70 for towing...

that really sucks man. I would check and make sure they aren't covered. And by all means if you think it was my fault let me know so I can make it right. You watch me most of the time and I always start them by hand and use a torque stick, but if you think it was me let me know.

Yeah i'm going to check.. I mean.. I know you always use a torque stick so I know they weren't over tightened. I mean... I can't blame you man.. you help so much with my car... I don't know.... I mean. you were the last one to take the wheels off when we did my brakes.. I haven't touched them since then.

Yeah I know... I didn't go with it to get towed.. I stayed at work so I wouldn't lose any hours. They went and fixed it and everything without calling me first to tell me what they think. oh well.. what's done is done.. need to get my read on see if its supposed to be covered.

College park... only because I bought my car from them and they know about my extended warranty. I've took my car there for my alternator replacement so I trusted them.

I felt my car vibrating. i thought it was my mid-pipe hitting the frame as usual... but it felt stronger so i knew something else was wrong.
