Call and report them to Honda of America. You won't get any service if you get the broad that I talked to, but I've heard of other case managers ripping into the dealerships for doing shit like this.

No kidding man, sorry to hear this. Hopefully it wasn't anything serious that would've cause more damage. Pray for a loose bolt or something.

i dropped it off on sunday 5/4/08, they were supposed to start it today. talked with Bill the asst parts manager and he ordered all the parts as soon as the TSB came out. the service advisor Geoff scheduled me a time to drop the car off, he acted like he didnt need to replicate the issue. I Have a pretty good relationship with some people there so i hope that helped me some.

UPDATE@@@@@
on 5/7/08 i got a call around noon saying my car was all ready to go. they replaced everything and i picked it up later that afternoon, everything was covered and straight forward. they never had to "duplicate" the issue or anything. as always, i strongly recommend Jay Honda

Landmark Honda,
Duke Street Alexandria Va,

I took my car in today and it didnt take more that 1 minute before they agreed. It was much easier than I thought. Too bad they had a 350Z there that I wound up driving off with! Almost the same color as my Fiji. :)

Notes: Came in with printed copy of TSB. Mike kind of surprised, kept telling me that there was nothing he could do because I'm out of warrantee. My response was that the TSB was Honda's way of acknowledging that there is a problem. I also fell squarely in the middle of the affected/afflicted VIN range. Plead my case 3 times before he finally caved in and called Honda. HondaUSA offered to cover 80% of the cost of the fix. They won't cover 100% because I'm at almost 60k miles on the odo. Still, the educated customer can get what they need; The ignorant customer will probably get nothing from these guys.

Bringing my car into Princeton, NJ Honda on Friday. Sounds like they are going to have to replicate the problem first and then if and only if they are able to replicate the problem they are going to order the parts.

I took my TWM SS out today, and I am planning on taking my TWM cable bushings out, but I am debating whether or not I should remove my shifter base bushings, cause they were such a bitch to put in.

I just hope they can replicate the problem and if they can it doesn;t take weeks to get the parts. I want to put a bunch of stuff on my car that I have waiting to go on!

Vehicle: 2007 Honda Civic Si Sedan Purchased: 1/17/2007 at Lehigh Valley Honda
Location: Emmaus, PA
Dealership: Lehigh Valley Honda
Service Manager: Sam Azara (sp?)
Mods: Stock
Results:
Took car in for Rear ABS recall and mentioned my 3rd gear grinds or is hard to shift into at times. Tech took the car for a ride for like 2 blocks and replicated the problem. Car goes in for the 3rd gear work next week. Can't wait to feel what it's like to have a proper working 3rd gear. The dealership was friendly and eager to help. They also mentioned the TSB before I did, which was cool. I got a free oil change while I was at it too. Just like GeezerSi said, Lehigh Valley Honda is a great dealer.

Update: Service Manager called later in the afternoon to notify me that the parts are on backorder just as everyone else here is mentioning. Car is tentatively scheduled for service a month from now.

Notes: I took my car into the shop in the morning and mentioned to them that my 3rd gear is notchy to get into and sometimes it doesn't feel like it fully engages. I left the car with them and the rep gets back to me later in the afternoon and says he test drove the car and then two other techs but they were unable to replicate the problem, so I told him I'll come in and I can show him what I was talking about. A little bit later he calls back and tells me he found a TSB about the 3rd gear issue, which was nice because I was going to print out the TSB and bring it up there, then he says they can go ahead and order the parts and call me next week when they get the parts in. I was upset when they said nothing was wrong but they redeemed my faith in Honda after the second callback saying they found a TSB without me having to bring it up to them.

I've brought my car in 3 times for the 3rd gear problem. First time, they changed the transmission fluid. Second time, they couldn't replicate. Third time, the TSB just came out, I told them about it, they ordered the parts right away. They got the parts in a week and fixed my car in less than a day.

Notes: Took in first time to have them try and replicate the issue. They could not. Took it in the second time after speaking with service manager and mentioning the TSB. They didn't try to replicate, simply ordered parts (on backorder). Will be taking it in in beginning of June.

Notes: Service manager was the first person I spoke to and did initial courtesy inspection. When he asked if I had transportation home I said I called Honda and they told me a loaner car would be provided for the time the car was in the shop. After the initial paperwork was done, he took me to the Enterprise (located inside the dealership) and had them get me a car ($50 deposit). He called a few hours later and let me know parts needed to be ordered and it should be done within a week.
