Honda doesn't approve of aftermarket MTF, and how tips to prove grinding?

hey guys, i decided to make this a separate thread because i need help and fast. my stealership told me Honda frowns upon owners putting in aftermarket MTF into their cars.. is this true? i think it's a fat load of BS..

i also have to get my car to grind on wednesday.. now that i have Royal Purple MTF, it's gonna be tough.. it still grinds, but not as much as before. so guys, what do i do? i need a guaranteed grind on weds, the worse/nastier the better!

my dealer already knows my car grinds.. but they need to "reconfirm" it.. another load of BS, i might as well go to a cattle ranch.. probably find less BS there..

help me!!

I'm using AMSOIL and never looked back. I never had the grinding issue with my 06 Si but I've always changed all fluids on all my cars to AMSOIL...I can't see what they can do about it. They may frown at it and I'm not expert on warranty issues but as long as it meets or exceeds Honda specifications I don't think they can do anything or turn you down for any warranty issues that arise.

i guess i drive my car pretty hard? but i'll get grinds 1-2 times a day now.. FTL.. next time i swap, it'll probably be amsoil. i just wanna strangle someone at honda, maybe that'll get their attention... i'm gonna bring that up to them, apparently the service adviser is going on a test drive with me on wednesday. i'll try to stay calm enough to get that point through his thick head.. if not, there's always the NOS-equipped ejection seat

stealerships are out to get us, i'll only go to them if i need something major done. otherwise they can kiss my a$$

It's funny how Honda can approve their own MTF and not one that works or helps.

The "new" Honda MTF stuff isn't bad at all actually. Honda designs and engineers every aspect of these vehicles, I'm sure they would know a thing or to about what spec tranny fluid to use. I have no doubt Amsoil, Royal Purple, and Red Line are at least meeting Manufacturers specs because I personally have Red Line in my Si, but I am saying that their MTF isn't that bad. Think about it, if the only reason why 3rd gear grinded was because of Honda's MTF, I am sure that they would have fixed it because its a hell of a lot easier to change tranny fluid then it is to drop the tranny and replace parts, not mention cheaper. While I do take note that Amsoil and Red Line have fixed the 3rd gear grinding, I am not gonna condone that they are much better than Honda's MTF. Stealerships have many issues and they can't really deny warranty work just because you don't use Honda MTF. I knew a service tech at Honda that said that if anything went wrong with the car they would blame it on the owner just because "the K20 is built like steel, it will never break, same with every aspect of the vehicle". They said 3rd gear grinding doesn't exist in 08+ vehicles when my car grinds every now and then.

i've used the new MTF, and i grinded just like with the old MTF.. IMO it sucks balls, maybe my car didn't like it or something. but i don't approve of that BS honda calls the new MTF.

I have installed the new Honda MTF and it seems to help alot. I still get the occassional grind but some of the time it is driver error. Also by getting Honda MTF installed at a dealership it also notes that you are having transmission problems.
