EXPLAIN VIN #'s to me

I am aware of how the first 11 digits in a vin work and what they are used for, however im not quite clear on the last 6 digits.

I know they are the sequence number of cars being built for that model year.

My question is: is that number for ALL models from that manufacturer?

example

civic=000001
accord=000002
civic=000003
pilot=000004

OR does each model start at 000001 and go up from there?

example

civic= 000001
accord=000001
pilot= 000001
fit=000001

1st character indicates the country of manufacture, e.g., U.S.A.(1or4), Canada(2), Mexico(3), Japan(J), Korea(K), England(S), Germany(W), Italy(Z) 4F2YU08131KM65141

2nd character indicates which company manufactured the vehicle: Audi(A), BMW(B), Buick(4), Cadillac(6), Chevrolet(1), Chrysler(C), Dodge(B), Ford(F), GM Canada(7), General Motors(G), Honda(H), Jaquar(A), Lincoln(L), Mercedes Benz(D), Mercury(M), Nissan(N), Oldsmobile(3), Pontiac(2or5), Plymouth(P), Saturn(8), Toyota(T), VW(V), Volvo(V). 4F2YU08131KM65141

3rd character- Identifies vehicle type or manufacturing division. 4F2YU08131KM65141

4th-8th characters tell you about the vehicle's features, such as platform, body style, engine, and model/trim level. Use of these 5 characters isn't standardized, and each manufacturer uses them differently 4F2YU08131KM65141

9th character- doesn't provide info to the consumer, but identifies VIN accuracy as check digit. A mathematical formula based on other characters help determine the validity of the VIN. 4F2YU08131KM65141

10th character- Identifies the model year. For vehicles manufactured 1980-2001, it will be a letter. 2001 and beyond will be indicated by a number (U, Z, and 0 aren't used), and in 2010 they'll start over with letter "A". For example: 1994(R), 1995(S), 1996(T), 1997(V), 1998(W), 1999(X), 2000(Y), 2001(1), 2002(2), 2003(3) 4F2YU08131KM65141

11th character- Identifies the assembly plant for the vehicle. 4F2YU08131KM65141

12th to 17th characters- Identifies the sequence of the vehicle for production
as it rolled of the manufacturers assembly line. 4F2YU08131KM65141

VIN numbers never include the letters I,O, or Q

How to Decode VIN Numbers

Just copied and pasted..didn't feel like typing it all out hah

Edit- Well..I did not read the whole Op's post..hahah

Ok so using that vin above as an example, the last 5 letters.

Could an Accord and a Civic share the same 5 letters (65141) or does ONLY 1 CAR for that manufacturer get that number (65141) for that year.

that is what I am asking.

^^Yes it is. Pretty much it is stating that it is production vehicle 1 of the FA1 model or whatever model it is. There is no reason why the last 5 numbers can't be the same as other models.

I dont think so. I think its one number starting at 000000 including all models.

The honda civic Si's in the TSB are vin# 700000. Does honda even build that many civics per year?

also my brothers 04 civic SI vin # is in the 800000 range
