08 Si Rear Licence plate - 4 bolts???

I have a question for any of you that have 4 bolts holding your REAR licence plate down.

My 08 Si has the two top holes with a threaded insert for the 2 top licence plate bolts to go in there... However for the bottom 2 bolts, there are spots for them to go but the holes are untapped and there are no threaded inserts in them..

What did you guys do to screw the bottom of the rear licence plate down??? Im thinking of just tapping 2 holes the size of the licence plate bolts and doing that.

What have some of you guys done?

I added my bottom two screws, and there were threaded holes there already.

Are any of your guys that came with ALL 4 rear holes tapped 08's? For some reason i dont think they tapped those bottom holes on the 08's.

My mom has an 06 and her top and bottom holes have those threaded inserts in them. So she can use the 4 bolts.

However on my 08 Si the stupid bottoms are there, they just aren't drilled.

Every time i close my trunk the plate vibrates/rattles against the body. Any other suggestions besides tapping the holes out?

The foam tape is one, but that foam tape and the glue it uses arent very water resistant.

I would go to the dealer and see if they can help you out. They might do it for free. Good luck.

3m double sided foam tape is the solution. It is pretty durable. Or you can buy the Dynamat license plate kit for about 10-15 bucks.

Im going to go with the dynamat licence plate kit. I didnt even think of that, GREAT SUGGESTION!! Once i get some thump in the trunk that takes care of that problem too.
