It can't be good for the engine, especially since there is no load. By the way...why would you do this?

Should be fine but im sure its not the best thing for it. The rev limit is at 5500ish so you wont damage your tranny launching.

Its for the valve's. No load + High RPM = no good for valvetran. Its limited at 5500. Its ok to launch with, just dont do it unless your actually racing.

I've done it a few times to show off. The limit is relatively low so I can't see it doing damage if you only do it once or twice for a short period of time.

Launching, and bouncing the limiter at 5500 is pointless. I find the sound to be annoying IMO unless you are not applying full gas. Launching at 5500 is going to give you so much wheel spin that you will be peeling out until about 3rd gear... Launch at 3000-3500, save your clutch, and you will still take off faster.

the original poster did this to show off.....lol.

That's funny. A kid did this to me in an Si and wanted to race me in my EX, that's even funnier lol.

bouncing off redline while at a stop is useless and no, it's not going to intimidate the guy next to you or make his girlfriend's panties wet.

relax and save your engine and clutch.

I've never even touched the redline in my car yet, stopped or redlined. Although I be redlining and tapping the rev limiter all day at work on the forklifts. LMFAO

bearings work on pressure and lead, no load and they got sloppy... not good. avoid it.
