If so where have you taken your car for the 3rd gear fix? Also my VIN is (2HGFG2152GH100358) I should be good to go right? It’s a 06 Honda Si

I spoke to my dealership about this problem but they had no idea what I was talking about. I spoke to them about it when I was getting a new Engine in my car had to fill my oil every 3000K, so they dropped a new engine in the car about 3 months ago. The 3rd gear problem has been a bit better and happens a lot less now but still at times happens and is a bit rough going into 3rd gear. But dropping in a new engine they wouldn’t replace the gear synchronizer or the shift sleeve would they? Anymore info would be great guys. :) thanks

This shit sucks...I dropped my car off last night after hours to have it worked on first thing today. Apparently a couple of mechanics called out today and they didn't even get to work on my car. So now I have to try and bring it back next week...but even IF they are able to replicate the problem, the guys told me the parts are on national backorder.

I want to install some new parts on my car that I have waiting and instead I am gonna have to wait for weeks if not over a month.

Thought I made a booboo today when I went in to get my rims put on. I asked them in person about the TSB since they now know me by first name. The lady said "well we usually switch your xmsn fluid to the new one and see if that helps" I told her I put in AMSOIL myself and se was like "ok we'll we will get the parts but it could take us a week before we could get to it"

So honesty paid off in this case I should be getting it done after my trip to Ga.

Noticed my 3rd gear shift slipped out a couple times, over the last couple weeks. hopefully its driver error. been pretty good so far, except yesterday seemed to take a while before it engaged after shifting.
Anybody else experience this and is this the defect everyones talking about?

Thats the one. Clutch fully engaged and KSRKKKRKRKRRKKRRK and you look like an ass that can't drive a manual.

It barely happens but im sure it will become more often as time goes on. Gotta take in when they get the upgrades.

Gotta get some fog lights soon also. They look awsome.

Mine happens pretty randomly as well, and I don't really get the grind or the pop out, just the REALLY bad notch/lockout that won't let you engage third or makes it incredibly difficult to get it all the way into gear...

Think I'm going to wait a while to have mine done until they've done a few so I can feel confident that they know how to do it right.

So far mines not that bad, just slipped out 2 times and also seemed like it was in neutral when I let out on the clutch, then after a second it grabbed. was really strange. only happened once though

I don't have the 3rd gear problems like most do but sometimes it's knotchy and doesn't go in all the way but i'm not dumb and DO NOT let out the clutch. This happens about 3% outa 100%. Thats why i'm not on here complaining. I think I got a good Si. It's not troubled really.

if its under warante, and there is a minute chance you could have a problem, get it fixed before the waranty runs out.

Not all have problems but they discovered a defect and its now recognised by honda to be repaired for free.

If my Si's 3rd gear ever gets any worse and my warranty expires i'll just trade it in for an Ex . This way I won't have problems with the Ex. I already have it covered. I don't mind owning an FG1 myself. My Si isn't that problematic though. I have confidence that it won't get any worse. Like I said before, it doesn't do it much or at all. I don't shift fast but when I do and I'm trying to drive fast, I don't have a problem when nearing 3rd gear. But when I DO near 3rd gear, I don't let off the clutch as fast as I do 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th.. I'm always ready for 3rd gear so that one is a gear that I take my time all the way through. Thats probably why it doesn't get any worse or will ever get worse. It's a VERY rare thing to happen.
