It's only been a week and every part but a nut has come in. I was there when they delivered my third gear set. Came from the land of America.

quick question about the TSB for the 08 SI 4 door it says
2008 Civic Si 4-Door:
From VIN 2HGFA555.8H700001
thru 2HGFA555.8H702465

And the VIN on my vehicle reads 2HGFA55598H7018xx
So from the looks of it, my car falls into this category, however, why is it that my VIN has a 9 in place of the period thats listed above?

Sorry if this has been posted but there are just too many pages to read to find the answer.

Has anyone from southern cali brought their car in for this? Which dealership will perform the work without much questions asked? I bought my car to Honda of Pasadena and they basically won't do it becuae they can't "duplicate the problem".

Along with the third gear issue, I also brought my car for other warranty repairs but the problems were still there after I picked up the car. The receipt evern indicated "No problem found" Not sure if they even try to fix it. Sorry for the little rant. This is a dealership to stay away from.

Mine was repaired last week and so far, no problems. Hopefully this is a permanent fix.

It only covers 8s... and yours is a 9... so you are unaffected/already have the fix.

I've learned to avoid the grind and live with it for the time being. I just slow down my 1-2 shift and I can avoid grinding 98% of the time. I was "compairing SI's" with a friend and he was grinding 2nd REAL bad! I mean it was almost painfull to hear it (while at the same time, laughing at him for trying so hard) Of course I beat him. Hoping to get mine fixed soon.

The period is the check digit, it'll be any value between 0-9 and X.

you're not meant to rest your hand on the knob, or your foot on the clutch whilst driving, unless changing gear. you're pushing down putting pressure on everything in there.

I just dropped off my car today. Anything wrong is going to be fixed under warrenty. that includes clutch, EVERYTHING. Raised a little kain to the general manager and that helped with getting whatever i need. I know i need a new clutch because my clutch master cylinder went bad so my clutch would burn badly and not its slipping..

I PS into second to see if it would let me in. Before hand i couldnt even get it into gear. They didnt touch my second gear so the gears arent new.
