Just got my car back today and 3rd gear shifts like a dream! The dealer told me to chill out shifting VTec style for a few hundred miles to let the parts get evenly coated. Didn't ask too much about that part, something to do with the lube they used. I am happy with how fast they did the work, did it all in one day. I will post again when i let er rip ;p

3rd gear
dropped my car off this past friday at santa barbara honda. they said it'll be done by monday night. i feel bad for some of you guys getting turned down. i guess i got lucky and they were able to replicate the problem when they test drove it. my advice to you guys keep trying and taking it to various dealers. eventually you'll get lucky. Oh and print out that tsb it'll help somewhat. also be prepared to wait a long time for parts. i had to wait 6 weeks for mine.

Alright..so I got the car back this morning and I'm happy to say shifting feels like when I first bought the car. They seem to have done a very nice job about the fix. Hopefully it'll stay this way, I will try to not to drive the car too hard from now on..mainly since I'm onver 30k already.. I'm happy they fixed may car!

I don't get why the gears are still notchy. It should be completely smooth going into every gear. You guys should wait 600 miles or so to break in the tranny gears and if its still notchy, switch to AMSoil tranny fluid and see if that helps. I don't want to bring mine in just yet but my gears are not as bad as some of you are saying yours are. My 3rd gear has never popped out of gear and has never grinded. I run my car HARD and shift fast when redlining and the only issue I have is with 2nd gear, which I grinded a few times before switching to AMSoil and since then, I've had zero. My gears are notchy as hell tho, esp 2nd and 4th. I have 5 years stick shift experience with more then 100K driving stick. Oh and I also had an S2000 (now thats how a tranny should be) for 40,000 miles before the SI. <--- bout to hit 20K

i just dropped mine off on sunday night, and they said they could probably finish it today, but i told them to take their time and i will pick it up after work tomarrow. i want them to get it perfect, rather than rush to get it done. the worst is i called this dealer last wed, and they got it in so fast. i called another dealer and was waiting 2 months for them to get parts in. i was having trouble with my vsa as of last wed, and i called the other dealer(dch academy honda) to see about them getting the parts in, and to get the vsa fixed and they asked me what vsa was on the phone. and i was talking to the service manager. that was the last straw. plus dch never did a tsb, as open road has done 4 or 5 of them. i will update on how the car drives tomarrow when i get it back.
