Set an appointment with your dealership. They will take your car for a spin to replicate the problem. If they find a problem, they order parts. Then they fix it!

Well, I got a call form the service department and they took mine appart today. The service guy told me they found the "problem with the 3rd gear". Keep in mind, the service manager had told me a week before that this issue was unheard of and that only 1% of the cars were afected..anyways, they will proceed per the service bulletin, and the car should be ready by Friday or Saturday, which surprised me because I thought they had to order the parts, unless had already order several 3rd gear sets. They even recommended to change the clutch for $538, it appears my car has been "driven hard" and a it's a little worn out. I passed on the later offer though :) Will keep posting as I get updates..

aight! i'm a lil annoyed!!! i took it last night...they replaced my sun visor just fine.

test drove the car...called me and said it's not messing up (3rd gear and popping in the suspension)...so it's actually a friend of mine that had the service order so we went back to the dealership and he's like ok it's not doing it...took him for a ride and of course it wouldnt' do it...it was all warmed up and late in the night...and like i todl him it does it when the tranny is cold....ugh! so i had him put his hand on the gear shift when i shifted into 3rd so he could feel where it catches and usually grinds....so but oooooonce again since they can't replicate it there they won't fix it.

i flat out told him that i was calling honda and they would have them take care of it. this is total b.s.!!! i should not have to go through all this!

i took them the recalls and tsbs and they still want to fight me about it like i'm making it up or something!

has anyone had them replace 2nd gear instead of 3rd. I've always had problems with that gear not any other.

I got some good news today; the mechanic called me gave me the update himself. The labor on my car's finished and he's saying there's no issues now with 3rd on my car. He replaced the 3rd gear per the SB and also told me they changed some forks<-? or something like that on 4th and 5th that weren't looking good either. My car is ready and I will pick it up tomorrow morning. I mentioned to him I was told the parts were on national back order, but they were actually at the dealer already, go figure..anyways, at least they are done and supposedly the car is like new..we'll see tomorrow once I drive it.

only a few do if it falls within the VINs specified....

its good if it doesnt, means your tranny was made with the new 3rd gear set and should not have the 3rd gear issue

Today, during a "high-rev" shift (around 5-6K), my car grinded so loudly into second that all four other passengers in my car said "Whoa, what the **** just happened."

Man oh man... .

It just startled me. It's happened several times in the past, but...not to the degree third gear did.

It was such a horrid noise. I know it wasn't my shifting, because it was the same way I always shift...

Well I got my car back this morning, with both 2nd and 3rd gears replaced. I haven't really messed with the 2nd gear yet, but third feels awesome. There is no hesitation when shifting into it.
