So, someone posted a question regarding people who got their fluids replaced...
Was wondering if anyone had any feed back on this?

Basically, for all of those, and there are lots who brought their si in about third gear grind and got new tranny oil that (masked) the problem.... Is it going to be pretty likely that we can get this tsb applied to our car if we bring in the slip regarding when it was first identified....?

Funny thing also, i brought my si in this friday to get an oil change and the tranny seemed super smooth after leaving... Hope these guys didn't see the tsb and lubed me up so they don't have to see me for a while... in any event, i plan to bring in my slip where they found the issue and put in different tranny oil ... Thoughts anyone?

I mean, the logic is .. this is a hardware issue that is recognized....
Oil masked it and didn't fix it and for those who got the oil replacement... They should get the actual fix...

Hmmm, also my si is making a noise ... increased throttle anywhere from third gear on starting at 3krpm .. it is an increasingly louder whine ...
Sounds like :
YouTube - 3rd gear pull with PAR Straight gears in
YouTube - Straight Cut Gears
but not sooo loud...
But yeah, when he backs off the gas and that jerky whine...
I hear all of that? is it also a part of this bad synchro...

Never heard this sound before in any manual tranny and it sounds like something is off in the tranny to me? Bad synchro?

Do you guys think HONDA got it right this time though?

AND It kinda scares me that they gotta rip the whole transmission apart and try to piece it back together....especially if its some newbie mechanic.

I'm just scared imma walk out w/ more problems then i walked in with.
They wouldn't give a tranny to a noob mechanic.

When I was working at chrysler they had this one master tech that did tranny's only. Everyone went to him for any tranny issue.

If they do the TSB then they'll give to the tranny technician, not some noob that only knows LOF's.

Thank you! Now we know Canada DOES have the same part that Honda America uses.

Interesting I had my service manager drive my car and it happened to him into third gear and said he would talk to his rep and let me know haven't herd from him since but ill surprise him instead of the other way! And on top of that I will ask for a new clutch =) cause it caused a lot of damage the 3rd gear grind.

And some of our own members here thought it could be our "technique" and not a problem with the car. Maybe we all don't suck at driving stick after all..
