Update: Its been 2 months waiting on parts so I decided to call the dealer and see if there was any update on their status. The dealer told me the status was still the same and recommended I call HOA, so I did. After speaking w/ the case manager she said it will be until atleast August 7th before the parts are here. Nothing like a 4 month wait on 3 small parts. Any other people in Va waiting on parts???

wow thats ridiculous. i kept calling my service advisors every week until the parts came in. 1.5 month wait for me. but persistence gets you somewhere. plus its good to have a good relationship with your service people.

so... the general consensus is to do this fix?

My third gear is just getting ridiculous. Everytime, I mean EVERYTIME i put my gear in third i have to be careful and most of the time its for a reason. I even grinded my second the other day by shifting too hard. I don't know if 2nd has anything do with 3rd but i hope that the dealership can fix it nice.

can i have some words of comfort from anyone? please?

Mydealer has been really great. I have had a nice Accord loaner while my parts are on backorder. I think I am now at week five. But hey free miles...

i have 16k miles on my 07 FA5 and parts are backordered w/ estimate delivery b/w 1-2 months....

I asked about a free loaner at my dealership and the service advisor told me that i would have to pay out of pocket for a rental first and then they would call honda up to see if they were going to pay for it, and if they agreed, i would get reimbursed..... Does it really work this way to get a free loaner?

^ Um. My dealership has loaners, and when they are gone, they rent out from Hertz. For free. They foot the bill.

Honda agreeing to pay for a rental (even though they should be kissing your ass over 3rd gear), but I wouldn't expect anything.

My service advisor said it'd take 2-3 days to fix once the parts come... I can't be w/o a car for a day... and i really don't want to have to pay for a rental... I don't see why i have to pay for honda's mistakes.

the prick i talked to said "my vin number didnt apply to the list" so i called another dealer and HE said it'd take about 2 months for parts to get in if they could re-create the problem when they drove it.

why dont they just fix thisssss? its not like honda cant afford these little parts!

Well, the end finally came for me and my beloved Si. After trying to get the TSB work done, writing and talking with HCS on the phone, etc., the service center continued to deny any 3rd gear problem, "even an intermittent one." They spent more time looking for mods/ecu codes than driving the car. All HCS offered to do was give a loaner car while I kept my SI at the dealer for a few days in the hope that they would admit to the problem. But they just didn't want to fix it.

So, I traded in the car. I'll never buy another Honda again. This was my fifth.

This car was in the shop constantly. It took months of vacation days at dealers, phone calls and letters just to get the oil leak fixed (which the car had from day one).

We buy a Honda for reliability and resale value and we're getting neither.

I really loved this car. All they had to do was issue a recall for a new gearbox and it would have been fine. Now, they've lost me and family (12 Hondas since 1989, no more) as customers.

I wish all of you luck trying to get yours fixed.

It's going to be at least that long at all the dealerships... People are waiting on these all over the country, and it's first come first serve.

Took mine in earlier this week to have the ABS Recall done and a trim piece repaired. Got told they couldnt duplicate the problem and wouldnt order the parts even though the TSB says intermittent issue.

I gotta take it back next week to get the final part of the trim piece fixed so i'll have them try it again and if they refuse than its manager or HCS time.

Probably not with the stage 3. These dealerships hate warranty work and will do whatever they can to get out of it.

im guessing they'll blame your stage 3 on whatever your problem is. easier for them to just deny it and blame it on aftermarket then just fix the car like theyre suppost to. when i called the first thing he asked was "have you modified your car from stock, AT ALL?" and when i said i just had an aftermarket alarm he said they wouldnt touch a modded car.

very homosexual. thats why im waiting for my warranty to expire before i mod my car so just incase something happens before March 09, ill have a stock car and they'll fix it.

cheap bastards..
