Took mine in today. Got a black 4door lx as a loaner, but i had to ask for it.

To all the guys in Socal, how long did it take to fix?

Should be 2 days of work assuming they have all the parts and don't break anything in the process.

(yes I know I'm not from socal)

Cool

**** the Si transmission. i had the problem more with 2nd but one day while i was driving third gear went out i just gone over the 36,000 miles warranty. i had to pay to have that shit fixed my self after everything the bill was like 2655. the guy at the trans shop told me Honda used some cheap ass parts. and don't even call Honda get you shit on video doing it then go into the dealership with it. . so that's what my friend did when his shit started to do it and they fixed it even after going 100 miles over the warranty on the car. when i called Honda about it they just gave me the run around and that they have not had any complaints about it. so **** hondas used to be good cars

switch the f'in tranny fluid....i switched mine to royal purple synthetic motor oil and all of my problems went away (i kno a lot of people are shocked about this but hondas tranny fluid is pretty much the same type of stuff except much much much worse)....the pop outs, grinding, and notchiness (if thats even a word lol) completely went away after the swap....personally i dont see a reason for me to get this fix as it has completely removed all my issues with my tranny....its so smooooooth now its unreal the difference that it made....its like a completely new car now....hondas tranny fluid is crap....u guys really need to try this....

Take it up with Honda? You have a powertrain warranty that covers for more than 36,000 miles, and you have a right to get warranty work done at the shop of your choice.

Still waiting on the parts for TSB. Hyannis Honda on Cape Cod. They tried to goose me for 9 hours labor on the HFP suspension, got it down to 3 hours. Wanted the 3 year vs 1 year warranty dont ask why not do it myself should of.

Folks look up your states lemon law-MA gets 3 shots at fix, then legal letter and MA publishes the form for it online, then they buy car back. There is a TSB so it's acknowledged bring it in and show them. TSB even states intermittent!

Bring out the big voice, start walk into the showroom not the service area, and start the conversation. Hey TSB here with defect, you are not going to fix it, visit #<insert number> for lemon law anyone want to talk to me about buying a Honda?

The dealer bills back Honda anyway so not fixing it is insane.

Less than impressed Hyannis Honda so far between attempted labor snow job on HFP suspension AND initial pushback on TSB 3rd ear. I had 3-4x conversations before they agreed to fix.

So, I took mine in finally for the fix. As a side note; I've had an 08 Accord for 3 days, and I've gotta say, I really like build quality of them. I received the car back yesterday, and along with the parts list on my invoice for the oil change I needed, I had an additional 2 full pages of items they had to order to get the fix done.

3rd has been really smooth , but I think I might have a problem. To preface; I usually have the radio on constantly, so some form of bass from the stock sub is usually always going. My problem; I think my idle is maybe 50-100rpms too low, the car has a slight vibration when stopped at stop lights. I first noticed it when a song was changing and no audio was on, and my hands and foot felt a little feedback at a dead stop. I've tried blipping the throttle a bit, up to about 1500, and letting it settle. It stops pretty hard at 1000, then drops to 800-900, and then slightly drops a little below 800 - all in little split second increments, not smoothly. That's where I feel the vibration.

Am I just feeling "old" things that appear to be "new" after driving the Accord? I'm bone stock on my Si, and I'm pretty in tune with my car when it's acting funny or makes a new noise or rattle.

Suggestions and/or thoughts welcome.

Got mine back...third gear now feels like all the others. Even cold this morning there was no resistance or popout. There is still a slightly notchy feel but it is normal feeling and like the other gears.

Well just got a call from the service adviser. He says the car is done but he cant give it back to me yet. I was like ???. He told me while fixing the car the tech was moving the seat back and the bar fell off. At first he was like you're getting a brand new seat, and i was like hellz ya biatch! But got a call 30 seconds later and they are just replacing the bracket and guide. Boo... I wont get it till probably next week cause i have to wait for parts.

Wow, I'm glad that people are getting the work done, but this is seeming somewhat ridiculous now. I went in to Honda the day after the bulletin was released (April 14-15th), and I'm still a-waitin'. The last phone call that I put in was after May 23rd when I was told that a theorized factory in Japan would deliver thousands of these parts to the States. He told me I was right- that LOTS of Hondas were getting this fix done, and so they'd underanticipated the demand for parts. And still no follow-up. I guess some dealers are lower priority on the parts delivery schedule. Yeesh!
