Update on my 3rd gear experience.

I went back today to get some other stuff done, control arms replace, etc. Yesterday, I was on the phone with the shop supervisor, and simply mentioned something about a TSB. He immediately said "We'll have to take immediate action if there is a TSB out for this." Went in today, and I have an appointment next Tuesday(5/6) to get 3rd gear fixed. He didn't even want to replicate it, said he would be replacing the 3rd gear and synchro. Hopefully all goes well...

On a side note, I was there at the dealership for almost 3 hours today, talked to two other guys that worked there who owned Si's, and said they have the same issue, go figure. The shop supervisor said they might get theirs fixed too.

Then at least you know your 2nd gear is getting fixed along with the 3rd gear.
i wish i had that kind of money....

^^You didn't have a choice of dropping off the car when all the parts arrived? I can't trust my dealership like you do.

My dealership said they expect them today. I'm hoping I can get my car in tomorrow. They said it should only take 9 hours (another Honda Tech told me 5 if they are decent) and I would have it back later that day.

That's good news. Two weeks is a long time to wait for parts.

Your telling me. Especially if you have some extra ponies waiting to strap on under the hood. I might just have to go for the gusto and get a Hondata reflash while I'm at it. Too bad my shop wants $595 for the reflash and $120 to drive it up there and have it done. I think I may just go the clubrsx route and save almost $200.

It depends on what people are talking about.

The people who got the "fix" before it was officially released got the same old version parts put in. Some people had no problems, and others had the same, if not more than previously.

As for the new fix, with new parts, most people have no problems. I, and a few others I've seen post, notice that there is next to no difference after having the fix done on the car. It's popped out of gear three times on me and it's still notchy as all god damn hell.

My next move is Amsoil...after telling my service manager I haven't noticed a difference.

It makes me sad . I was so excited for this fix to work.

I took my car in on Thursday for scheduled maintenance and mentioned the 3rd gear TSB and how it feels really notchy shifting into 2nd. So the service advisor drove my car and was able to duplicate the problem twice with me in the passenger seat (he looked really embarrassed). They agreed to fix my tranny but said they would have to order the parts and that they would arrive on Tuesday (today). I called in the morning to make sure the parts came in and luckily they had. They said that they ordered and will be replacing both the 2nd and 3rd gear sets along with changing the tranny fluid... so that was cool! I'm expecting to get my car back tomorrow afternoon. Time to play the waiting game...

It's a joke, really. So sick of Honda dealership and their bullsh*t. First time ever I've heard of Honda having a major problem (which they are considering minor...but really it's not to the customer cuz we are the ones forking out that money every month!).... Now they do, and they aren't willing to step up to the plate!? It's simple... at least willingly fix the cars that fall in the VIN#'s with no question like duplicating a problem!? My 3rd call to the dealer.. still no return call. And this is all over an estimate for my bumper after they know I have a gear problem, my VIN# & tellin me they won't do a thing until they can duplicate, with even then "possible gear replacement." The day they had my car in they were supposed to have the body guy they use give me an estimate to buff out my bumper... My 3rd call, them taking my number 3 times sayin they'd call me...a week later now & still nothing...still won't talk to me. And I told him I just want the estimate right now! WTF! JOKE!

I got my car back last Saturday. Service manager at Santa Ana honda has always been a great guy and takes my word when things are messed up. However, once I got the car back, the car was WAAAY worse than before. Incredibly notchy, popping out of gear, PLUS my clutch wasn't smooth anymore. Needless to say, after this recurring problem, popping suspension, annoying tapping sounds everywhere, window rattling, I traded in the car and picked up something new. For the year and a half I've owned the car, at least 1/4 of the time it has been in the shop.
