look it up under the Acura TSBs I found it on the club RSX forums. Thats where they said they found it too.

I just called my dealer asked them about it and the guy was like "ok well when do you wanna bring it in" So I thought that was easy. Then he tried to say if it wasn't covered under warranty I'd have to pay the cost that guy just made me mad. So I'm gonna call back later when Mark the head guy is in.

Does anyone have a link to the warrenty that says that we should get a loaner? I dropped it off today and they said the parts are on backorder, so it is going to take maybe up to a week, and i kept pressuring for a loner but they said they dont give them out anymore... I know under hondacare you can get reimburst like 35bucks a day for up to 6 days....

I looked in the warrenty book on my owner link and i couldnt find anywhere in there that they said they would give a loaner if it was warrenty work...

I'm not sure that its going to be found in the warranty book. It's just a common practice among dealers to give out loaner car for customers who purchased their car from them. I'm sorry to hear about your situation, that's really upsetting that they are being so unsympathetic.

Funny thing is i just got off the phone with the dealership, and they told me the same thing. Exact words were, "Our policy has changed in the last year. We no longer give out loaner cars for major tansmission work". I explained this was a warranty repair and she still said no. I asked to be transfered to the service manager, and he told me that he will personally order these parts for me, call me when they get in, and have a loaner waiting for me.

Point of this story.... When you feel like you are not being treated fairly, politely re-explain your point to a higher person. remember, nobody likes to get yelled at and they will be more willing to help if you treat them with respect.

woah woah woah, they must have like an exact script they read off of, because i just got off the phone with my service manager, and he said that "Our policy has changed in the last year, and we do not give out loaner cars." They said that since i have honda care then when they get the parts in (which means they are going to give me my car back and wait till the fill the back order of they parts they need, i guess so many people have brought their cars in for this fix they ran out of parts, she tried to tell me that they havent even produced the parts yet.) She will personally call me, and schedule an appointment to fix the car, along with scheduling for a loaner car and they will bill honda directly, but my honda care only takes care of the first 4 days or something like that..

But yeah, i think they hate me there, becasue i won't take no for an answer

I must have gotten lucky. My dealership called me twice asking if I was coming in for a free loaner.

OK, thanks.

BTW, I asked my service manager about a loaner, and he asked if I bought my Civic at their dealer. I said yes, and reminded him I bought three vehicles from them in the last 9 years. He then said I would get a free loaner.

Depends. How do you feel about your dealer taking it out for a 3000 mile test drive to duplicate the problem?

For all you guys that have scheduled appointments thus far... are you mentioning the TSB ahead of time? I just scheduled mine for friday, explained the problem but didn't mention the TSB. Gonna whip that out when they say they can't find the problem.

Here's a quick question for you guys: I have an 06 Si that i got pretty early (02/2006), and I'm now at 43K miles. While I do feel for you guys with the 3rd gear grinding, I don't experience the issue that often (though when I do, I sometimes think it is myself mis-shifting). However, someone who drove my car when I first got it (and knows nothing about the Si), said my third gear felt notchy. So now that I'm at 43K, I'm debating whether or not I should bring it to the dealership to get the 3rd gear replaced anyways? From what I've read on the TSB, it looks like it's a new different part. So before warranty expires, should I just go ahead and try my luck at the dealership?

I would tell you to because I dont know about you if youve driven any other manual cars they sure dont feel like that when you shift and never pop out or grind so thats dodo especially if you buy a car that needs to performe.
