If my 3rd gear starts messing up and I'm able to get them to fix it (able as in they reproduce the issue and REALY do fix it) I'm going to take it home, and frame the receipt

Update: WOOT in for fix! They replicated the problem. He even mentioned the TSB without me mentioning it. :) Hopkins Honda FTW! Backorder FTL! All parts on back order except 2. ERRR! I only have the rental until lunch. Atleast im getting my car back, I miss it already!!!!! Automatic sucks!

Also to answer your question. If it is under full warranty and not extened you should get a free loaner no matter what!!! If they don't mention it, just ask the person you are talking to. Tell them yo don't have time and see if you can get a free loaner. They gave me a free loaner after I told them I have two jobs and have no time to wait. GL!

ALSO to add.If you call Honda, don't tell them about the TSB until you ahve tried to replicate the problem. Some dealers seem to give you a harder time about it if oyu mentiont he TSB prior to replicating the problem. you make yourself seem as if oyu want a free fix only.

Check your warranty paperwork you signed when you got your car, if it says they will suppy you with some for of transporation while its being worked on then they HAVE to give you a loaner or a rental.

Ive had mine grind off and on but once I changed to SS,Bushings,Amsoil etc the problem is rare. Im at 41k now and my car just hit 1yr old, so I do drive alot. I never took my car into the dealership ever because I read all the posts about people getting denined and just had to live with it, or car was kept for a few days etc, I drive alot so I couldnt go without a car.

So basically I have no paper trail with the dealership that my car has this problem and im approaching 42k now (Bought the car used with 1.7k miles on it, so my factory warranty is good till 48k) so I'm not sure if I want to wait a lil while longer and get it done near the end of the warranty period, or just take off my ss and bushings and take it in.

I guess it shouldn't surprise me given your history, but I guess I just expect far too much in people.

well i went to Honda today. no dice. couldnt replicate the problem and even i drove the car with the mechanic and it wasnt doing it. however, when i'm stopped and clutch in then put it in third there's a wall before it goes in. the mechanic said thats normal. yeah right.

gonna call Honda Canada to complain as this is the 4th time i've complained about this.

Not sure if I'm going to do the fix. I switched to Amsoil and never had the slightest problem again. I'm worried if I don't jump on it I may miss the train but I"m also worried it might not be needed then carfax will have tranny work on my car's VIN# so I'm not sure what to do.

edit: and btw the RSX guys got hooked up too.

I called Baierl Honda in Wexford, PA this afternoon. The man in charge of service told me that if my car is effected by any bulletin like this then honda will send me a letter which i can then take to the dealership.

I have no idea if he was bullshitting me but that is all the farther ive gotten with Baierl Honda.
