I can see right now that this is going to be a b*tch to get done. The stealership is going to give us a hard way to go.

I think I am going to bring in AMSoil to the dealer but I do not see how a trans oil can fix parts that are not correct in the 1st place. I hope the dealer can do the fix without have to leave the car overnight to replicate.

I was just asked to leave the car overnight to replicate without being given a loaner vehicle. This is going to be some BS.

Any advice guys?

It's going to suck to have them abuse my car for a day, I can't go to work and then have them call me and say there isn't a problem with it.

If you want them to replace it,and your car has the issue, then why not just leave it so they can try to replicate it?

There's a general attitude on this forum that somehow the dealerships are "out to get us"... that I don't get. They have rules and procedure they have to follow in order to get reimbursed by Honda. So if they skip the "verification" portion and just do it, Honda can deny payment.

As far as loaners - I think that's up to individual dealerships. Honda doesn't provide money to dealerships to provide loaners.

Loaners are up to the dealership. In the TSB if a rental car should be provided it should state that. This TSB doesn't. Have them do there testing and if it is eligible have them order parts. Once parts are in drop the car off and you should have it back in a day.

Dealership called me today and said that they are going to "try and replicate the problem". I said that they very likely would not be able to as the service bulletin even says that the problem is intermittent. Waiting for their call back. I live an hour from my dealership and I do not want to hear "bring it back the next time it does it".

Mine is going in tonight to see if they can replicate the problem. If they can't I am just going to simply state if I didn't have the problem why would I want my transmission torn apart possible causing more issues. Hopefully they will get the idea.

I set my appointment Monday for today @7:30 am. They gave me a Accord Hybrid to drive. I went to the parts Dept to check on a seat cover I ordered, and the parts Dept had all the parts on "Hold" for my car.
My car has gotten so bad that I couldn't get into 4th gear at high RPM. I had them do the Fluid change on this car last year, so they knew I was having problems with third gear.

If I could get a loaner car so that I could get to work it wouldn't be an issue.

I drive 60 miles a day commuting to work...
It's not easy to find coverage when you support over 1000 employees...

So please, get off of your high horse. All I stated was that it's going to be a pain in the *** to get this fixed.

Just like it was a pain in the *** to get my Acura transmission fixed before this. And btw, they never fixed the issue and Honda/Acura left a lot of us out to dry with the 00-03 acura's.

I don't have too much faith in any large corporation to do the right thing by us the consumers and this is strike 2 with Honda/Acura. Hopefully they'll get it right this time.

And to be quite honest, I don't feel like being hassled when I just spent $20k on their product that was defective out of the box. Fix that sh*t, they know it's broken and didn't want to do a d*mn thing about it until it started hitting the news and started making them look bad. Why do I believe this? Because I've been down this road before with Honda/Acura and didn't receive any help.

It just irks me when people ie. fanboys (maybe this doesn't apply to u) always step up to defend a company. Honda, MS, Coolwhip, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, and Downy Paper towels don't 2 sh*ts about you. THey care about the money in their pocket. Honda has given me two bad transmissions on two otherwise "perfect" vehicles, so please excuse me if I have a bit of doubt in them from time to time.

Would calling Honda of America and opening up a ticket actually do anything? Would they make a dealership implement the fix even if the dealership couldn't replicate the problem as it is intermittent.

Yes, contact HOA immediately. Stop reading this thread and call 1-800-999-1009. Tell them some dude on a forum told you they're ate up and they'll expedite your service.

Seems like Minnesota has the good dealerships. I live in Rochester, Mn, brought my car in for a oil change and with the TSB in hand I show the guy at the counter. He said, "we have not heard a thing about it" which was fine, but after a few hours at work I called the service manager, he said that he had a few other customers saying the same thing, and he was waiting for the TSB to come out. I gave him the TSB number and he said " this is great! how did you hear of this before we did?" I said 8thCivic.com - 8th Generation Civics so they ordered the parts and now I am waiting for the partsto get in. The service man at the counter said that there is a different part number for the "new" set of parts to fix the issue according to the TSB. Tom Kadlec Honda Rocks!

Am I a fanboi? You bet your arse I am. I am a share holder of Honda. It is in MY best interest to ensure the company makes every last one of you on this forum happy so my stock will go up.

I certainly appreciate your fraustrations. I don't want my cars to be busted. But let's get real, you aren't the only person here that has to work. And my post was simply trying to point out some obvious things. They can't fit it, unless they have done a reasonable job in trying to replicate the problem. So if you are unwilling to let them try, then what can the dealership do? Not a whole lot.

You know, you thinking somehow I am on a high horse is funny... I have TWO Si's BOTH with 3rd gear issues, so i have a vested interest in getting this addressed twice as much as the average Si owners on this forum. :)
