I have I/H and they said nothing. To bad third gear feels just like it did before.

Monrovia!? Damn, that's like an hour drive from Stabba Ana for me. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I heard about your MTF and wanting the tranny to grind so the stealership will confirm it. Maybe you can try switching out your nice Royal Purple with some regular fluid before taking it in for a test run?

I got an interesting update today: "We were able to replicate the sound (what sound?), and we'll be replacing the transmission for you."

This ought to be interesting!

For rentals, I've had 2006 Accords of varying trim levels. They also have a Civic coupe (LX I think) and an Element SC.

Hi all,

Here's a status update on my attempt for TSB work on my Si:

After sending in my car yesterday (04/14/08) to Pacific Honda, I got a call back from my Service Advisor named Jerremie.

Jerremie started off: "Hi Jason, well I've got some bad news for you. We were unable to duplicate the problem."

I was like, "Awe man, I knew that was gonna happen."

Jerremie, "Hahaha but the good news is that even though we couldn't replicate the issue, we're just gonna go ahead and take care of the repair/replacement according to the TSB."

Me: "Wooohooo! That's freakin awesome!"

So after a little more small talk, I picked my car up and will have to bring it back Monday 04/21/08 as they have to order some of the parts required by the TSB. Other than that, the experience was over all not too bad. Especially since this was officially my first time I sent my Si into the dealership for the issue. Eversince I was aware from the boards that I wasn't the only one with an 07 Si experiencing this 3rd gear issue, I never bothered to bring my car in since there wasn't an offical fix. I didn't want to deal with the MTF workaround since I felt it was always something more than that.

So yay! Granted it wasn't as easy as some other experiences on this board where they were lucky enought to get a call from the dealer, or the dealer didn't even question the TSB, Pacific still was cool enough to get me the TSB fix even though they still couldn't reproduce the issue. I'll let you all know if this actually fixes the issue. I'm glad at least they are using different 3rd gear parts compared to others where I read they just replace the old 3rd gear parts with the same versions.

Again, score +1 for this new TSB!

That's funny this came up. When I asked how long they (Pacific Honda) would have my car, Jerremie said she didn't know, as this is the first Si that they will be applying the TSB to.

i called andy at burkle cuz that was the only number i had on me... he said to bring it in when i had time and they would use mine as the first "test" dummy car because they haven't done one yet... but he didn't mention anything about replicating it or anything... so i think im in the clear..
