Thank god it hasn't happened 2 me yet...when I shift I hold the clutch all the way down until I feel it going into gear...the shifts aren't as smooth but it hasn't had any problems yet...

"2008 Civic Si 2-Door:
From VIN 2HGFG215.8H700001
thru 2HGFG215.8H701973"

then, can i safely assume that purchasing an si in july should be 3rd gear problem free?

Got my FA5 early February with a late January build date. It falls right outside the upper range by a couple thousand. I haven't had third pop out on me or grind on me yet, but I don't drive very much (2 months of driving, < 1000 miles) Hopefully I'll continue to remain problem free.

2008 Civic Si 4-Door:
From VIN 2HGFA555.8H700001
thru 2HGFA555.8H702465

My VIN has a 9 before the 8. Why is there a . before the 8 in the VIN listing?

My built date is 09/07 without posting my VIN would this (other) VIN be affected? 2HGFA55598H700025

I think the "." represents the check digit. The VIN shown with the "." has only 16 #'s.

wow... hmm wonder how easy this is going to be to get done at the local honda dealerships in my area.

Thanks for the info... what would also be awesome if someone posted the pdf file for the actual bulletin if possible that way it might be easy to get them to do the work

Yes it is the check digit.
I wonder if there is a time frame for having the work done? I will taking a trip to the dealer this morning to ask questions.

Well being a TSB.. they probably would have to order the parts since its not like they will be stocking them for a recall correct?

Cool thank you! Time to complain and see what they say. I have just been living with the problem. I will see if I have to mention the TSB or if they do.
