I called my dealer yesterday and he was aware of the bulletin. He's ordering the parts and going to schedule me an appt. as soon as he receives everything!!! Do you think that they will be able to tell that i have the hondata reflash on my car and if so is going to cause some problems?

Now my question is, do you guys think I should remove my TWM short shifter, base bushings, and cable bushings and return the car to stock before bringing it in?

anything with ECU is a pretty big no no unless you go to a tuner friendly dealer. Another thing to worry about is that they might change your ECU back to stock. When they test drive it after they put the parts in they will know. Good luck man!

Got a call from my dealer today and that my service advisor is going to get all the parts and he has full control of the warranty issue and everything! getting my rent -a- car sometime today! yay!! hopefully i will not have this 3rd gear notchyness and occasional grind/pop anymore!

SHOW THEM THE BULLITEN and they will accept it and ESP if you've been there before in the past and was denied any service nor any 3rd gear replacement!!

Should i risk bringing my car in and having them fix the tranny and possibly causing other problems in doing so?

or just deal w/ the issue and try to go for just a manual transmission fluid change?

i notice when you go into 3rd, its not a smooth shift (almost like a zig zag notch at the end), you just have to have a good grip and make sure it gets in there

yea, but the issue i have is the one everyone else is having.

it sometimes just feels like its jammed and wont go anymore so i have to put it in neutral and shift back into 3rd.

That's exactly one of the issues I'm having. Aside from the resistance/wall I feel when going in, I have the slight zig/zag notch and the top.

had an appointment this morning at cookeville honda for this. The service manager and myself started to talk about hondas and all that good stuff, told him my plans for my car and what not, happened to found out that hes building a hatch w/ a b18. i told him about the grinding and popping out issues of our cars and he said hes heard stuff about it, i told him about the TSB and he went to his computer and brought it up and ordered the parts right away, it was cool as hell, he put his top technician on it, only bad thing is that they gave me a 08 civic rental, sucks driving this compared to my SI but i cant complain, my cars getting fixed. they have a mugen SI at the dealership, that thing does look bad ass, but not for 30 grand.

I called my dealer and spoke with the service manager. He checked the part-availability, then scheduled my car for next Tuesday and Wednesday to rebuild my transmission. They will also be giving me a free loaner car during those two days.

Thank you!

I went to the dealer yesterday and showed them the TSB, and they scheduled my appointment for Thursday morning and said it is going to take all day...

Now I don't know if they are going to try and replicate the problem or what? From what it seems, most people are making appointments because their service manager is looking up the TSB on the computer and going ahead and ordering the parts. The person who helped me didn't mention anything like that.

Should I call them and find out what the plan is for my car that day? Or go to a different dealership and see what they say?
