well from what you guys are telling me, my third gear is notchy right now, and if im not paying attention and only let the gear go in half way, and release clutch, it grinds on me.

and then pops out if my hand is no longer on it

Oh yeah, it'll grind for sure. The more you grind it the sooner you'll wear it out.

Also, I always ease it into third just to give the synchros more time to do their job. I don't hammer it in because that only wears them out. I treat my tranny like it's made of glass. Unless I'm racing, which isn't often.

Just give yourself time to get it into gear. It's hard because first instinct says you should shift so fast and hard your tires squeel. Just train yourself to wait until you feel the shifter is fully engaged.

A lot of times if I shift before my clutch foot is all the way down I'll feel notchiness too. Don't even start moving your shifter until your clutch is down.

lol and then everyone is staring at you like WOW he sucks hahahaha

you just have to hold the cluch a second or even half a second longer. once you get it. it will be liek second nature to you.

and probably cause your in first gear and first gear has alot of pressure on it from you shifting from high rpms

Let's back up. This is not a recall, which is why there must be a problem observed by Honda before the service is performed. A Safety Recall usually has a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) associated with it, but most TSBs aren't associated with a Safety Recall. This is also why you'll get a blank look of indifference if you rant about a recall at the service counter; there isn't one.

As for the mod = voided warranty issue, I have no desire to open that can of worms. I wouldn't continue working with a person convinced that an aftermarket intake is responsible for a dead 3rd gear synchro, especially as the part has been identified as possibly faulty.

I have the same exact problem! It goes half way into 3rd and you wait for a second or two and it goes in all the way. I hate that.....

first lOl at second to gf I hope shes a sweet heart cause It used to be the same with me intill that changed because of my gf just played to many games in the end it was one sided and I dumped her and sux that 2 years were wasted! Powershifting is not for everyone and is hard on transmission and should be used very rarely due to the Harshness of its nature. Its like so you know when you go thru your regular shift involves letting go of gas pedal pressing in clutch then letting go and back on gas well just skip the whole letting go off gas pedal and only press clutch pedal enough for the pressure plate to disengage clutch shift and let go of clutch pedal all this needs to be done in a good timed manner and done really fast!

Um...yeah. Just like the CAI Submariners and the Moneyshifters, right? You win. Honda is the root of all problems, and they "will try and pull anything". Whatever.

If it's not actually grinding when you go to put it in third but mearly notchy then save your time. Shift properly and forget about it.
