seriously guys thanks for the help, i havent got a chance to check grounds, but i did notice when i flash my lights also the OEM rpm gauges and speed dim themselves and when i let off of the "brights" they return brighter again... dunno if its related or not, but im about pissed off. I have a damaged connector from the OEM foglights I installed when I first got the car but i butt spliced it and plugged it back in and im still having the same problem... my dad is an electrician and said it sounds like im losing contant somewhere.
please excuse me for not really understanding the electrical part but what does this mean and what could it be? would this also explain the loss in memory? He also said it may be a fuse aswell like you guys have suggested

Have you checked the fuses yet? If so and they are all good I'd remove EVERYTHING electrical that you added (even if you think it's unrelated) and see if the problem goes away. If not then bring it to Honda. If they find something under warranty, then cool. If they find that it was your fault then you will have to pay. Sounds like you've got a lot of wierd problems. Did you get to check out the power and ground wires I mentioned in my last post? They are a great starting point to get an idea of what's going on. |

To get a better ground: make a ground wire (preferribly a big wire, like 16 guage) with grounding strap connectors on both sides. connect one end to between the screw and nut on your grounding connector on the battery. Connect the other end to a hole somewhere on your car chassis. It's not surprising you are having probs with sooo many electrical gadgets you got in your ride right now. Try that and lemme know yea or nay so I can look up some fuses for ya! |

awsome will do bro, but im still not understanding why Id be having a grounding issue on the Nav (it came with the came and ive never fooled with it), or the door locks, or the OBDII port? The only thing I have attempted to ground were the gauges which no have power going through the fuse and is grounded well to the battery tie down nut (and the gauges work perfectly) its this other stuff thats goofing up, stuff ive never messed with.
We installed my fog lights months ago and they worked fine fo a while and then like a week later the stopped. I was diagnosing the issue and accidently snipped one of the wires in half that pinned into the harness under the dash. For the longest I just had that bare wire just chillin' so when this started happening I figured all of the excess wire from the gauges install was pushing that bare wire into something and grounding out. Last week we fixed that bare wire and spliced the pin connector back together with a butt splice and im still having the electrical issues. I dont have a clue what ground would be bad. Gosh I hate my life, and my car right now!

I took a look at the fuse diagram and nothing stands out as anything I'd recommend checking.
#35 in the interior box is ACC Radio, but I don't have Nav and am not sure if the fuse layout is any different. Your next best bet if you want more things to try is to keep the car running and jiggle wires behind your fuse box. Also try the ones behind the obdII port. If your Nav and power windows start working, then you know which one is the culprit. I'm not sure about the grounding being an issue now, sounds like nothing has been modified enough to mess things up. The only thing I can think of now is that a critical wire going into the interior and controlling the interior electronics got separated and is making a bad connection. I don't have the service manual with me cuz I left it at work ![]() I'm curious about this problem and will take a look when I am at work tomorrow. Sorry I can't help more. I've been jimmy rigging my shifter cable back together all weekend lol. It is very important to properly seat metal shifter cable bushings in the ring else you end up breaking the cable over time. I think I got it fixed, but took some mad tool buying and trying to practice butt welding some 1/8" steel rods together (which is damn near impossible with an arc welder). Ended up using a bored out compression connector and a heavy duty crimper to secure the broken ends together. ugh! GL mang! ![]() |

awsome guys thanks... i havent gotten a chance to jiggle the wires or check those fuses yet, but im hoping someone can narrow it down now due to the most recent development ive noticed...
the locks will only lock and unlock (powered) when the key is either in the II position on fully cranked, same with the headlights and interior lights... so it seems im not getting any kind of accessory power unless the key is in those two positions... hopefully some1 can finally sort out this mess, ryan and volvo thankyou sooo much for your help thus far. Josh
