I'm not sure what you mean by "plus the civic's transmission is not 100 percent" but I highly doubt it's due to driver error. If driver error constitutes anything but Jeff Gordon-like shifting, then I'll be the first to admit, this Si isn't for me. Also, I don't think the Si was only made to be driven 14 flat every 1/4 mile you get. It's marketed towards drivers who desire a car as a daily driver, and not just to speed through every 1/4 mile.

Honestly, the 3rd gear only "pops out", when my GF is driving. It is notchy though.

what i meant by 100 percent is it is not built perfect. you pay what you get. don't want problems go get a more expensive car. Like a tsx, get less performance, absolutly crap as a luxury car and eats more gas.

with amsoil.........ur worries will go away.

however (with amsoil).....the gear feels a little heavier.......the 3rd synchro notch feel exists.......but u don't have to worry about if it is in or not.....

When Amsoil warms up.........takes 10-20 mins....unlike honda's MTF time of 1 hr.........the gearbox= dreams.

Back from the dead. Go get your 3rd gear fixed people. The TSB has been out for months.

^ And the parts are on a several month back order.

I don't know what's funnier. Waiting several years for Honda to finally get the balls to do what's right, or knowing that now that the TSB has been out for months, and the parts are still on a three month back order.

guys....the people that are having trouble with 3rd gear before or after the TSB....i hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighly recommend u switch ur tranny fluid to Royal Purple Synthetic Motor Oil 10W-30.....my 3rd gear was notchy as all hell and popped out like crazy....i switched to this oil about 5 months ago and omg what a difference....i have not had a single notch or pop out since...its liek night and day....i dont see the reason for me to get this TSB done as my gears are smooth as hell and work great....def do this if u r havin problems
