Exclamation Have we found a solution to transmission problems?

So, I have been having trouble with my transmission since I got it including grinding gears and popping out of third. After talking to the dealers my husband and I were kind of discouraged. The dealership , 2 hours away ,where we purchased the car from did not want to help or call Honda to resolve this issue. My husband got on the phone with the local honda dealership and they didn't know anything about a recall or transmission problems either. They simply told us that we would have to pay for the problem becuase we most likely created it. This was certainly not true. So I got on a few forums and started printing out information on the problems. I printed out stories of cars being depreciated because it popped out of gear at the dealership while doing a trade in. Also, the news broadcast and peoples comments. As well as the petition on this site (which my husband and I had signed months earlier). Lets just say I filled up a 2" binder and my ink cartridge had to be changed when I was done and there's still more out there! My husband called Honda and filed a claim and we were assigned a liaison to mediate between the dealship and myself. So we took the car to the dealership along with the book and gave it to the manager to look at. They looked into it and are supposed to be fixing my transmission. They dont know what is really wrong with it but there are known issues with the 3rd gear synchro and shift sleeve. They called the engineers in california to resolve it.....So we will see what happens and I will keep you posted.

Please call American Honda and do a search for my thread "American Honda Case File Number Thread."

It may not be much, but it helps us out. So many people complain about htis, yet won't take a few minutes to do this.

I am so tired of Honda's run around. I'm thinking of calling Sage Marie directly and asking him what the hell is going on.

they know... i say we all take our cars in the same week.. over load the dealerships with a bunch of civic's with burnt up 3rd gears.. they'll have to do something then!! but no really, we're (my wife and i) taking a very deliberate approach to this.

So, I got my car back yesterday fixed....ended up having to pay for new clutch tho. But transmission feels good...no popping out of third gear or grinding into second.

Well i took my car to the shop yesterday and got it back the same day, hours before they closed. I explained to the guy what the car was doing and he seemed like he didnt understand, overall i felt like he was on my side and did what he could to fix the issue. So he told me that he was not aware that American Honda had passed a recall "he didnt call it a recall but it was something similar" But anyways the recall was that the 06 civic si is running on an updated transmission fluid.. So all they did was change my fluid and now my car seems to be running fine.

enjoy it while it lasts.. because it won't.. Honda MTF sucks, i had the "new" MTF, and it started grinding on me just like before. then i swapped out for Royal Purple MTF, much better now

It was $441 and some change.....not really bad since I didn't have to pay for anything else. I am sure that it will be fine the drive is completly different now. Feels really good. However, I didn't notice exactly what it was with the steering until my husband told me.....the steering wheel is crooked! I have to turn the wheel to the right to track straight. Its crazy, were not going back to that dealerhsip! ugh

I have heard that changing the transmission would help for a smoother shift? I haven't tried it but I think I am going to change to GM Syncromesh for added protection?!

I have had all of my problems fixed so there is no need to do either. I just don't understand why you find it funny that honda fuc/<ed up big time with the 6 spd trans.? I was optomistic and everythings fine.
