Shaky / Unstable windows?

06 Civic EX Coupe

If my windows are down, let's say halfway, and I shut my doors, the windows seem to shake. It's as if the windows aren't being held tight in the door or something.....took it into Honda and they said there was nothing wrong with it.

Anyone else having this same issue?

I had this exact problem on my old LX. The problem appeared right after I got my tints and it was evident on all four doors. I'm not exactly sure whether it was coincidental or not. I remember vaguely reading on this site that it could have possibly been something with the window not aligning properly with the window regulators. I was just very upset when the dealership said that they were unable to recreate the problem. I brought the tech out, slammed the door and all you heard was a huge rattle. He brought me to the back and gave me a can of this foam that would temporarily fill the gap I guess. It was a bandaid fix. I didn't continue to pursue the problem since I traded the car in for an Si. You might want to try another dealership.

i had the same problem with my 07 si. My rattled a lot driving around when the window were open about an inch or more. Tech said all civics do that. I asked around on honda-tech too and most said it was normal, along with older civics as well.

I came from a 2000 Civic EX, my windows didn't rattle until 2007! Which was when I started to look for a new car and settled with the Si. So I wouldn't call it a common problem among ALL civics.

Yeah, i came from a 98 HX and I don't think it did either. I think the tech meant all new civics, and apparently it's been pretty common. Still would be nice it they didn't though, still another noise to add along with all the rattles and vibrations

I had the same window rattle problem with my '07 si sedan. This is my 5th Honda and never had that problem on any of the others. Saying it existed on older Hondas is BS. I took the 07 to the dealership and told them I didnt pay 20 grand to listen to a window rattle(I could saved 19 grand if thats what I wanted to hear!) they ordered and replaced the window regulator and it fixed the problem. When they ordered it, they didnt think it was going to fix it but ordered anyway due to my ragging about it. They also told me the other SI on the lot made the same noise. I told them well it looks like you have 2 that are broke and need to be fixed!!

Does anyone with rattling windows also rattle when driving around (like when hitting small bumps, or driving over the little bumps that separate lanes)? Mine does it like that, and when I close the door.

Yeah, bumps till tend to increase the amount of throttling. I'm going to wait until some warmer weather to see is it has the same problem.
