Dealer won't help you with this if they're anything like mine.

That sounds like your fault for misshifting the gears. Grinding them and whatnot. You probably messed up the synchros.. You'll be lucky if they cover that. Did you swap your tranny fluid before all this happened? Swapping the fluid helps with the smoothness of your tranny but doesn't remedy bad driving.

my 2nd gear syncros were bad and replaced by my dealer. it would grind the majority of the time when i shifted from 1-2 at those rpms as well and finally they went bye bye one day. after dealer replaced the syncros i have not had one single grind. obviously it is not driver error but more of a defect.

^Exactly!, I did this and really have no problems. Sometimes 3rd won't go in smoothly but it goes in. 9 times out of 10 times my car shifts smooth and quietly. took it easy for my break in period aswell.

I've had problems with 2nd gear grinding from time to time. I voiced my complain to Honda about 3rd gear popping out and they replaced it with Honda MTF fluid and it hasn't popped out on me ever since. The next chance I get I will take it back to Honda to check out the synchros for 2nd gear.

I've had the MTF replaced twice with new stuff and within the first month, third was popping out and second was grinding again.

*sigh* keep b!tching to your dealer? maybe one day they'll give in. you can also call Honda NA and get a case number. i have one, and am waiting for a 3rd gear synchro replacement.. whenever honda gets around to it..

Good luck. Honda shut my case file the first time without ever talking to me (the bitch who I dealt with refused to call me at any other time besides the one I was in class) and the second time, the same bitch said "What do you want me to do? You can't even get your dealer to replicate this."

never tell your dealer how hard you drive your car.. they'll use it against you somehow, those sneaky b@stards..

just say it grinds when you shift into 2nd

Gears are grinding, but it's not his fault. There's a lot of people that complain of this. rev car up to 8000 accelerating in first, go for second and it immediately grinds, even with the clutch at the floor still.

yup! and it sucks cause i can't think of a way to tell my dealer to fix it... i know they're gonna make a mechanic drive it... and he's gonna do it at normal shift speeds so its gonna be pointless
