2008 Tsb

I just found this TSB on the NHTSA website. Its for 2008 Civics, came out in Dec. 2007. I'm not sure if its model specific. I tried searching but didn't find any specifics.

The description is pretty vague:

Component : ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:BELTS AND ASSOCIATED PULLEYS

Anyone know anything about this??

TSB Results : ODI - Office of Defects Investigation

if the above link doesn't work go here:

ODI - Office of Defects Investigation

and search by year, make and model.

second link works... if you click thru and click "get summary" you see the following:

Quote:
Make / Models : Model/Build Years:
HONDA / CIVIC 2006-2008
HONDA / CIVIC HYBRID 2006

Service Bulletin Number : 120107
NHTSA Item Number : 10024034
Summary Description :
INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY CORRECTLY TO PREVENT OIL PUMP DAMAGE. *NJ
EDIT: That doesn't sound good... I'd probably be taking my civic or civic hybrid in for service before something breaks! Looks like it excludes the Si tho... lucky me!

Ahhhhh... I see it now, that link wasn't working for me before... it does now.

Theres pictures and everything...
heres what it says:
Currently Applies To: ’06–08 Civics (except Si) and ’06–08 Civic Hybrids
When installing the crankshaft pulley, make sure that you line up the four flat sides of the pulley with the four flat
sides of the inner oil pump gear. If you don’t, and you just try to force the pulley into place, the pulley will drive the
gear right into the oil pump casing and crack it.

sorry for the repost everyone...

Thanx siufai.

Just cause it says----

Make / Models : Model/Build Years:
HONDA / CIVIC 2006-2008
HONDA / CIVIC HYBRID 2006

I would think if it included the Si it would say something in the list like----
HONDA / CIVIC SI 2008

not sure tho!

And yes, now that I read the dates, I think this is a repost. It's pretty sad when this has been happening since 06 on the regular civic models and they still haven't gotten it right by 08.
