does it do that from 2-3k when revving?????? if so, that's my problem too!!!! I've been trying to figure it out but im getting a rattle and i have no idea whats causing it. i'll go check it out on my car when i get a chance and i'll post if that's my problem too. also, i just started having that problem after i would say about 27k. another thing is, it goes away when the car is warm. but sometimes it'll still be there even though its fully warmed up.

Only in 1st and reverse for about a sec then it goes away. If I give the car a good amount of gas (1.5k-2k) it does not do it at all.

seems like the pulley or tensioner has some play in a direction it shouldnt which is causing it to move and make that noise. did you take the belt off when you checked the torque on the bolts?

yea i will probably check again and put more thread lock on it. everything was rock solid and I can't even move the tensioner with my own hands. I have to use a wrench so i know it's tight.

Did you adjust the little black hex stud with the lock nut on top of the pully bracket. In the directions it tells yo to adjust it to a certain spot the have the correct tension.

If you tighten it, it will pull on the belt and make your tensioner pulley move out more allowing more space between the two parts of the belt so they wont rub like that.

It may have worked its way loose over time.

Yea, i just went out an looked at mine. I have way more of a gap between the two spots on the belt.

Just tighten the black adjuster screw on top and it will pull up on the belt and pull the tensioner pully out more.

(you'll have to loosen your 2 pulley bolts before you can adjust it)

If that is an R18, get it checked. I work @ a Honda dealer, and there are a bunch that have had the tensioner bolt break off, causing the water pump pulley to cut into the waterpump!

your top pulley from what it looks like to me does seem to be a hella lot closer to that bolt head compared to mine. could just be the angle tho maybe

When you install aftermarket things, who knows! Things like this come w/ the package when you mess around with a car.

Sorry bro, this is not an r18. No superchargers for the r18.

its an Si with the Comptech Supercharger. His question is reguarding the pulley setup on his kit causing his belt to rub.

Silly honda techs. J/K

You hit it right on the head. I put about five turns on the adjusting screw and no more rattle. I do not know what happen to make it come loose. the sound did not get worse over time or anything. one day it was fine the next "rattling". Thanks bro. I'm happy again.

Look where i circled. There is a little notch on your tensioner. When you adjust your black adjusting screw on the pulley bracket, this notch should be right in the center or a little more to the right. Check that. If the notch on the tensioner is to far to the left the you need to adjust it more.

by making it tighter it will put more tension on the belt and pull the tensioner pully out more.

Hope this helps.
