Does anyone know how to change Seat Belt chime sound

Is there anyway to replace the existing "annoying" Seat Belt Chime Sound, with say something that sounds like the "Lights Left ON" sound? I don't want to eliminate the seatbelt warning altogether, but I think it is too loud and shouldn't be. Other vehicles I own sound much better and less obtrusive than my Civic.

I'm pretty sure they meant for it to be at least a little annoying to try to persuade people to have their belts on. They could have the car whisper sweet nothings to you but they chose the annoying beeps for a purpose.

Not a bad question though. I just pull the fuse to rid of it all. I didnt' pull it on this car though. I find it's annoying when I'm working in the car and want to have music on and you get that ding/dong over and over.... just makes me want to break out in dance "ding dong, the witch is dead..." yea.

This is the "only car" that I have that has it that loud and obnoxious. There has to be something better.

There is. Put your seatbelt on. Are you such a hardass that wearing a seatbelt knocks your street cred down a few points? Grow the **** up.

It annoys me when this question comes up and ignorant people are so quick to hate. I think mostly everyone wears their seatbelt. I know I wear mine without exception but my FA5's beeping is completely annoying. I like to warm my car up and pull it out of the garage in the morning and unless I buckle up to back up 10 feet i get to hear the lovely beeps.

It would have been better if the beeping was delayed like 20 seconds if the belt was still not on...that would make alot of sense instead of immediately when the car starts.

I love my FA5 so much but if I have one major complaint...its this damn beeping.

Hrm.. I thought it doesn't beep until you hit like 9mph or something like that...
I can pull my car in/out of the garage and let it warm up just fine without hearing the alarm...

Sry, just don't have any info on the speaker or chip that controls it.

I've read other posts on this subject that mention the actual chime assembly being tied to the airbag interface which prevents anyone from disabling the chime itself. I like to remove my seatbelt as I'm approaching my driveway and find the chime to be obnoxious as well... I agree it's needed, it's just too stinkin loud!!

I've looked but haven't found the actual chip that chirps - I've quieted other chimes like this by just covering them with some hot glue... but I can't seem to locate this sucker

How does disabling the chime 'cause accidents??? Or because the chime is so annoying "it's" causing the accident?

Again, especially for the idiots who think that I'm not wearing my seat belt.....If you could actually read, I said I wanted a different sound that wasn't so annoying. Thats all I'm asking, can the sound be changed or not.?

If you were wearing your seatbelt, you wouldn't need a different sound because you wouldn't be hearing the factory one. So, I find it pretty safe to assume that you aren't wearing your seatbelt to the point where you feel the need to change the chime.

Stop thinking you know him better than he does, he just wants the chime to be a little lower in tone.

I always start the car before I put my seatbelt on and it can be annoying.
