Wink Gear changes for 06 Si?

Looking for a little help here. Just picked up a used (48k miles) BEAUTIFUL little silver si for $13,800 and so far I just love it. However....
I drive in excess of 80mph for the vast majority of my 90 mile round trip daily commute and the rpms are just too high at those speeds for true fuel efficiency.
85mph = approx. 3,800rpm.
If I could just make a 15% gear change (easy in my race car) that would give me 85mph @ approx 3200 rpm.
Here's the question Are there any other taller final gear options available for Si's with LSD? Aftermarket or other factory options?

This would make 1st gear a little more useful as well. I currently only use 1st when taking off up a steep incline from dead stop. Otherwise, 2nd works fine.

Also,I'm aware that there's a performance trade-off when going to taller gearing, but most of my performing happens in turns anyway, and you don't need as much HP/torque to exit a turn when you have extreme corner entry speeds.

idk what final drive to tell u to get... the stock Si is 4.765 or something like that...

i do know that the regular civic, driving @ 90mph is around 3k rpms... which sounds close to what ur trying to get...

what kind of mileage r u trying to get on the hwy... b/c if i'm driving a lot on the hwy i will get easily over 32mpg in my Si...

If I don't VTECH much, I'm getting between 29-30mpg average.
However, I just drove around for the last 3 days straight without exceeding 75mph on the highway and I averaged 32mpg

Hey Bizzy, I haven't checked these things out yet. I've only owned the car about 3 weeks, so haven't really checked anything other than oil, coolant, clutch+brake levels.
Air filter sounds like a good place to start though. Also oil looked brand new when purchase was made, so I've been checking every 500 to make sure it's not burning off. So far so good.

I'm just thinking that if Honda already makes a taller ring and pinion that would fit in this tranny, I could make the change when ,hopefully, 3rd gear issue is being address.

yeah air filter, tire pressure, any extra weight in the car, all these things will help...

tests on some cars show that driving on the hwy w/AC on is better mpg than w/windows down... for obvious drag reasons...

i read another thread where u said that u were gonna take off ur spoiler... idk if that was a joke or not but if u were serious it's a bad idea... especially @ higher speeds...

Yeah Biz,, I was just talkin out my A*#.. I like the spoiler. It's not too big, but still sets the rear of the car off nicely. My problem is that I'm just spoiled by 450 miles per tank from the '88 accord and I pissily want this new car to do EVERYTHING better.
But driving 30+K miles per year, any savings is worth it. Then I can decide when to burn $'s by playing with VTEC up in the mountains and terrorizing other motorists with my apex chasing ways.

Down by ~ 4% I think. Not sure if that is of any use to you.

I would like to be able to change my 6th gear, and nothing else.
