In before someone else does it.

If you don't already know what potentially could be causing third gear issues for some Si owners, do you have an idea of what it might be?

I've heard talk of syncros being chewed up and worn out on cars who have had their transmissions dropped, but many owners who have had this done seem to have the problem come right back.

What exactly could be causing this? And if Honda is going to fix it, any idea on what they'd be doing? Rumor had it they'd be replacing syncros with carbon ones or something.

Na I actually have "ALL DATA" it's alot better then google

But no I was away for a couple of days. I am very familiar with manual transmissions but I have never seen/felt this complaint that alot of Si owners are having.

Alot of my friends have K series equipped motors/trans mostly RSX's and they seem to not have any of these problems.

On a manual transmission many things can cause problems, from shift forks/levers, wrong fluid, driving abuse, OR defective gears (but pretty unlikly of honda)

I have a friend thats a owner of a 07 Si he does not have these problems.

as far as I think what could be a problem thats impossible to say without taking a look inside, gears "popping" out can be caused from several reason's even reasons such as bad mounts.

To tell you the truth what Honda might do about your transmissions, is NOTHING. if it didn't pop out of gear's the first day you drove it out of the dealership, Then they can probably careless. Honda will advance in selling, as they are doing very great and im positive in future Si's they will be very cautious about this mistake (if it even is Honda's fault and not from driver abuse)

Don't know if that was much help but I can't really tell you what's the cause of the trannys poppin outa gears unless I was physically there.

^ Sounds like a Honda response to me!!!

Nah, I'm just giving you shit.

My dealership sources looked at ISIS and said that the fix will be replacing the syncros as well as the DETEND or DETENT (something like that) ball springs or something?

list all of the major maintenance schedule 30, 60, 90k, etc... and what's included in the service.

what is needed and what isn't.

How come honda doesn't change power steering fluid?

Diffrent makes/ models actually require diffrent things, but here are some off my head..

at 30k all fluids/brakes/tighten crankbolt/ fuel filter, some makes actually require you to change spark plugs at 30. lubricated chassi, + more

60k good idea to replace timin belt, spark plugs, re-torque all drivetrain, ovbiously all the fluids/tires/brakes etc lube the chassy + more

90k some require you to replace 02 sensor and pretty much and everything listed above, and couple more things
