when checking my coolent it was weird

took off the radiator cap and there was a thick green film all on the underside of the cap AND on the inside of the radiator housing. It looks like quagulated coolant. like it got burnt and or something like fungus is growing inside the coolent lines. is this safe? should I go to dealer?

It could be the coolant being boiled off, or some sealant from the assembly process floating around in there. Try to remove it and see if it comes back again. Worst case is to do a radiator flush.

... and if you do flush it, go back with a mix of demineralized h2o & coolant.

You mean Distilled water, or if you know somebody that works at a lab, have them fetch you some double distilled water. chase it down with a bottle of Water wetter or something similar.

>> distilled water and demin water are the same thing (pure / mineral free) - just to avoid any confusion.

ok how many miles are on car first of all? If it's not a lot of film then its ok its just the coolent silicates breaking down....it is a long life coolent in the car and dosn't require changing till 90k.
My coolent is blue if yours is green I don't know why other than the coolent was changed and it shouldn't have been...I try to keep the coolent that belongs in the car in it if you have the OEM honda Blue stuff in there and you added green stuf it could be reacting....
