irritating vsa!!!

hey guys... i am a newbie to this site... i own a 08 Honda Civic Si Rallye Red.... and i already have a problem. well i decided to have an aftermarket audio system and right after it was installed, my vsa does not work anymore. The vsa off light is on and also the vsa system malfunction light is on.....i read on a previous forum someone else had this problem but i couldn't find how they fixed it....i took it to the dealer and they won't do a damn thing because they say is't because of the aftermarket stereo so they are charging me to fix it... wut should i do???

ask them how the stereo will interfere with the VSA. New national laws state that for a dealer to deny warranty work, they must prove that an aftermarket part has effected the malfunctioning part. Meaning if they cannot prove that the stereo is the cause, they must fix the VSA.

Someone here may be able to give you a link to the swite, i don't know what it is, but it has all the details

Unfortunately, I think it's pretty clear that the install did it. He installed a new system in his car, changing around the wiring and whatnot and now his VSA (which is electronic) isn't working. It's a pretty cut and dry case.

but first i had an aftermarket headunit put in, and everything was fine.... then i installed an amplifier(which only included running a power wire) i didn't cut into any type of wire harness and then the vsa came on

well it's true though, i won't beat the dealer, i will have to pay out of my pocket....so nothing is effected by it not working right..... i think i might just leave like that....i turned it off when i raced anyways

running a power wire doesn't make VS not work, and dealers are very easy to beat. People do it all the time.

Its not cut and dry. Head unit wires don't effect VSA. (Unless the OP spliced into some wrong wires) Many people have aftermarket headunits and much more and they dont say their VSA is broken.

If you don't care thats your choice, but i would be pissed off if a safety feature i paid for didn't work.
