Removing motor/mirror from assembly?

ya so someone clipped my mirror and its got a scratch and some white paint on it, so im just gonna order a replacement cap online for $12.70.

but my question is i know that i have to release 6 clips in the back of the assembly to remove the cap, but, how do i remove the mirror/motor to do so?

So how did you remove the mirror? And how did the cap come off?

you just pull the mirror and it snaps off. there is a circle type thing on the motor and it has 2 clips one at 2 o clock and another at like 7. the back of the mirror has the same clips. you just yank it off and snap it back in.

once you do that. you take out like 3 torx screws, you remove the motor from the motor bracket it guess you would call it. leave it dangling, you dont need to remove the harness connector from the motor bracket.

then on the side where the mirror attaches to the car, you remove this foam padding, and then there are 2 more torx screws that hold the motor bracket into the enclosure. you can then slide it out laterally and pull it, and the motor out afterword.

now you should have the black plastic shell and the painted cap.

cap uses 6 clips i knew that. you have to pop them off with a scredriver from the area underneath the motor.

then reverse.
