Something loose inside muffler

I recently purchased an Si axleback from another member here, and I just took it out of the box today and noticed a rattling. It sounds like a nut or something fell inside and got stuck (yes, it may be a weld that came loose, but the muffler is almost new). I even shook the muffler while staring down the exhaust tip with a flashlight, but I couldn't see anything.

Any tips on how to get whatever it is out of there?

Maybe a baffle broke loose inside of it, or something got jammed thru the inside the middle of the muffler. You can try shaking it in different directions and flip it around some and hopefully it will fall out thru the mase of baffles, short of cutting it open. Try a long flexible shafted magnet stick.

If there are any probs with it let me know....it was only on the car for about 2 or 3 weeks before I took it off and replaced it with the HFP. So nothing should be wrong with it. Just PM me if you have any further issues.

This did the trick. After several minutes of shaking, turning and flipping, what appeared to be a small, blackened weld popped out of the exhaust tip.

Thanks for the concern. I'm going to go ahead and install the muffler anyway since I got the thing out. Hopefully this is not a sign that a baffle will fall off or something.
