My 10,400k rpm Blown Motor news, beware of the Dealership.

What happen a year ago between me and the dealership about the 10,400rpm blown motor thing was all a total bull crap. wish i should've known better.

a friend of mine who use to work for my Honda Dealership told me this and make me feel stupid, but it's too late.

The dealer lied to me, well, they actually trick to say something to make them void my warranty. they said that they had a Honda Rep came over to check out my car and link my ecu to their computer and show that my motor was blown at 10,400k rpm, but from what my friend told me was the Honda Rep never came, and my car was never linked to any computer and there was no proof. It's all the Service Manager Trick to make me mention something stupid after they saw one of my valve bent, and i was stupid enough to say that maybe the 10,400k rpm was i when i miss-shifted or something. Right after that they documented what i have just said and deny my claim.

My friend told me that if i would've never mention anything me miss-shifting keep trying hard or get a lawyer and go to court then i could've got my car cover under warranty because they have no proof showing that i was miss-shifting, but guess i was not that smart.

so to all of you honda owners out there, watch carefully with what you're saying to the dealer.

here's the short story.

feel free to say whatever you wish, because i was young and didn't know what i was doing back in, now i learned alot from my mistakes. But please let this be a lesson to all of us.

here's the story.
It happen a year back, i used to do alot of stupid stuffs but that's not the case. I decide to take my car to the shop to have them put on my comptech img on for me. i was late to pick my friend from the airport, but they haven't finish tightening all the bolts, and i decided to tell them to stop with what they were doing and i'll tighten the bolts myself later. later that night i tighten all the bolts, but i guess i over tighten two of them and broke the studs, turn on engine and the car was idling like crap, choking noise or something, and you feel a huge air leaks if you put your hand on top of the intake manifold is where the img is located. the next morning i went on the freeway to merced from stockton and was going almost like 80 mph, and i have totally forgotten about the leaks i have. stupid enough to miss-shift to 2nd gear, but as soon as i saw the rpm jump up, i put it right back into neutrals. i ordered some new studs to replace the broken one. a weeks later i went to go pick up the new studs i was going up on the freeway ramp and i decided to hit vtec, then as the rpm hit 6.5k the motor started to shake and die off on me. .

SHIT, you got me thinking your IMG had something to do with your Blown motor. Sorry to hear about your luck.

EDIT: just read your short story, I don't think your IMG had anything to do with your problem, more like the poor install and mis-shifting. But mainly the mis-shifting for the bent valve.

Also check your fuel injector/fuel rail ground screw and ensure it is tight. It is the only grounded screw under your manifold cover.

Mis-shifting and overrevving sucks to be sure, but when I read your post all I saw was you said you bent a valve. Was there more damage?

Even so, you had to have removed that wire. Just make sure it is tight.

well the img was installed, but not properly installed, so i got some big air leaks and broken stub and bolt and i didn't relocate any ground wires either, and stupid enough to drive and hit vtec for a week without any repair, then blew the motor. And warranty got voided because i mentioned that may miss-shifted or something.

but it's all good, i manage to a get loan and got a new k20z3 motor about almost a year ago.

So your mad because you could of lied to the dealer and have them fix the motor you were using even though it had huge air leak and still kept pushing it. I don't see why your mad.

All this other then you mis-shifting isn't gonna bend valves. Leaking IMG', broken studs and a ground that was never relocated will not cause bent valves. Bent valves are caused by mis-shifting.

Glad to hear you got a new motor

That sound more like detonation from being too lean in the A/F ratio.
