Tranny blew...
Sound like part of a late night google image search ?? Well, it's not...
Some of you may remember my 3rd gear problem, and subsequent replacement... well it's been shifting smooth ever since and I was sure things were on the mend. Saturday as I left a friends house I noticed a strange whining coming from the trans. The sounds got louder as I proceeded home and eventually became a grinding and the shifter began shooting out randomly. I had to nurse it home and by that point it sounded like rocks in a dryer anytime I let the clutch out. So, for the 5th time in 3 months I'm in a loaner car from the dealership waiting to hear about how bad it is this time. Well, it's settled; I'm done with Honda. From the rattles, poor trim quality/fitment, suspension noise and of course the 3rd gear, I'm fed up. I expect more form a company that markets itself as a reliable carmaker. I think I'll just go back to Nissan... |

I've had some awesome rentals actually:
07 accord v6 coupe 06 accord sedan w/navi 06 Camry 07 Impalla and now I'm in an 06 accord v6. Since buying the car in December, I've spent almost as much time in rentals as I have in my car. |

I'm guessing that it blew because when they replaced 3rd gear they didn't torque something right or left out some mundane part. I don't know, and I don't care. Anyone of you honda loyalists want to buy an 06 Si?? I mean honda can do no wrong after all and it's always the driver's fault right?? idiots... |

And if you're right, then that's not really Honda's reputation on the line for building a solid car. That's some morons mistake of not putting it back together right. |

I put 60k on my 03 Sentra that I traded in for my Civic. I only had to put a $200 part on the car in the 3+ years I owned it. I got good gas mileage and the car had no model wide problem that the car maker pretended didn't exist. I'm sorry you're having so many problems with your Si. So far, the only problem I have is the 3rd gear issue. If mine got to the point yours did, I'm sure I'd get rid of it too. |
